Abstract: The present invention provides a universal and centralized image (e.g., medical, bio-molecular, etc.) processing system platform. The invention permits sharing both computation and visualization across a single universal platform, thus allowing for sharing of computing resources and visualization of images on a variety of imaging (client) devices without high-performance graphical display cards. In a typical embodiment a (e.g., medical) image 2D linear registration algorithm is implemented on a Cell Broadband Engine processor, which has nine processor cores on a chip and has a 4-way SIMD unit for each core.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for preparing a bundle of sheet material for transport. The automated apparatus includes a cutting assembly for cutting slats, or spacers, from scrap sheet material, a pick and place assembly for positioning and securing the slats to the underside of a bundle, and a stacking assembly for stacking bundles prior to removal for shipping or storage. The slats, once cut, are automatically placed in guide channels and then positioned beneath the bundle while glue is applied thereto. The glued edges are then automatically pressed against the bundle to secure the slats to the bundle, thereby creating space beneath the bundle to allow a forklift to manipulate the bundles.

The wire(s) is electrically connected to corresponding mounting locations. A plurality of antenna elements are mounted to the circuit board at corresponding mounting locations. Each antenna element has a feed finger and a ground finger, where the ground finger is electrically connected to the ground plane and the feed finger is electrically connected to the corresponding wire. Each antenna element has a first portion extending from the circuit board along a first plane and a second portion extending from the first portion along a second plane that is transverse to the first plane. Each antenna element provides hemispherical coverage and wide frequency bandwidth.

The locking hinge is achieved through the connection of a set of plastic fasteners on the pair of support assemblies to a set of notches on the base. The locking hinge allows the support assemblies to be able to pivot upwards towards the upright assembly. The interlocking set of bars is achieved through the even spacing of bars along the bottom edge of the base and the edge of the pair of support assemblies.

Abstract: A system for processing code contained in one or more selected files, before the code is linked to form an executable image, determines the locations in memory where the code will be stored after it is linked, and revises the code to correspond to the determined memory locations. The object code files include code comprising a programming environment, such as LISP, and code input by a user. The user can delete selected portions of the programming environment. Read only, static, and dynamic memory are utilized and each portion of the code input by the user is evaluated to determine which memory is most appropriate.
