Patent number: 9511644Abstract: Self-propelled liquid dispensing equipment having ground engaging wheels and an active trailing link suspension system in which either suspension struts or air struts control suspension travel. A liquid pressure transducer is connected to a liquid reservoir to provide a control input that varies the assist given by the suspension struts or air strut in direct proportion to the quantity of liquid. A given suspension travel is maintained regardless of the quantity of liquid carried by the equipment.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2014Date of Patent: December 6, 2016Assignee: CNH Industrial America LLCInventors: Aaron R. Tollefsrud, Bruce G. Bastin

Patent number: 7500677Abstract: A sway control arrangement configured to control movement of a product storage tank supported on a wheeled chassis assembly is provided. The wheeled chassis assembly includes a leaf spring in support of a frame and a tank on a transverse axle relative to a forward direction of travel. The sway control arrangement includes a master cylinder actuator in fluid communication with a pair of slave cylinders. The master cylinder is mounted between the frame and the leaf spring. The pair of slave cylinders are spaced apart from one another and mounted between the tank and the frame. The master cylinder communicates a fluid signal representative of a movement of the leaf spring relative the frame. In response to the fluid signal, the pair of slave cylinder actuators reduces movement of the tank from generally level alignment relative to the axle.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2006Date of Patent: March 10, 2009Assignee: CNH America, LLCInventor: Bruce G. Patent number: 7490691Abstract: A subframe arrangement is configured for a mobile vehicle chassis assembly to enhance isolation of the subframe platform and drive mechanism from flex in the chassis assembly caused by dynamic forces associated with operation of the chassis assembly. The chassis assembly includes a frame having a front and a rear frame support, and a pair of elongated frame side supports interconnected therebetween. The subframe arrangement includes a subframe platform configured to receive the drive-unit, and a plurality of subframe mounting couplings operable to attach the subframe platform to the pair of elongated frame side supports. Each of the plurality of subframe mounting couplings is located along a generally isosceles triangular-shaped arrangement that enhances isolation of the subframe arrangement and attached drive unit.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 2006Date of Patent: February 17, 2009Assignee: CNH America, LLCInventors: Scott D Reese, Richard A Moen, Bruce G Bastin, Kevin C Lent

Publication number: 20090038886Abstract: A ladder is formed from an integral material blank having a pair of opposed side portions integrally joined to a central portion disposed between the side portions. The central portion includes a number of step portions spaced from one another along the length of the side portions. Each step portion includes a front edge integrally formed with the side sections and a step surface integrally formed with the front edge. The front edge of each step portion is joined to each of the pair of side portions and o the step surface along a pivot line that enables the side portions and the step surface to be manually bent with regard to the front edge when assembling the ladder assembly from the material blank.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 6, 2007Publication date: February 12, 2009Inventors: Bruce G. Bastin, Jade M. Abner

Patent number: 6345772Abstract: A field marking system includes a marking solution storage tank, a mixing volume fluidly connected to the storage tank and configured to mix marking solution from the storage tank with pressurized air, a nozzle fluidly connected to the mixing volume and an engine including a turbocharger. The turbocharger supplies pressurized air to at least one of the solution storage tank and the mixing volume. In one exemplary embodiment, the turbocharger supplies pressurized air to both the solution storage tank and the mixing volume. The marking system additionally includes a valve connected between the solution storage tank and the mixing volume and a control circuit coupled to the valve. In one exemplary embodiment, the control circuit generates a control signal such as the valve modulates based upon the control signal to vary production of marking medium.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 1999Date of Patent: February 12, 2002Assignee: Case CorporationInventors: Bruce G. Bastin, Luke D. Prouty

Patent number: 6119963Abstract: A boom assembly includes a central support, a first wing pivotably coupled to the central support so as to rotate about a first axis, a first cylinder-piston assembly having a first end pivotably coupled to the support, a second end pivotably coupled to the first wing at a first pivot point for rotation about a second axis on a first side of the first axis, and a second cylinder-piston assembly having a first end pivotably coupled to the support and a second end pivotably coupled to the first wing at a second pivot point for rotation about a third axis on a second side of the first axis. Extension and retraction of the first and second cylinder-piston assembly applies varying opposing torque to the first wing depending upon an angular orientation of the first wing about the first axis.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 1999Date of Patent: September 19, 2000Assignee: Case CorporationInventors: Bruce G. Bastin, Luke D. Prouty

Patent number: 6036206Abstract: A traction control and active suspension for land vehicles of the type having ground-engaging wheels and a fluid motor for each wheel, located on a wheel mount movable with respect to a vehicle frame, wherein a suspension spring and fluid cylinder are interposed between the wheel mount and the frame, and fluid pressure applied to the wheel motor is also applied to the cylinder such that when traction is lost, the fluid pressure drops in the cylinder, allowing the spring to extend the wheel mount towards the ground to regain traction. A fluid valve is provided to flush the fluid cylinder when the vehicle transmission is in a neutral condition in one embodiment, while an alternative embodiment uses a pair of diverter valves to accomplish flushing of the fluid cylinders.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 1997Date of Patent: March 14, 2000Assignee: Case CorporationInventors: Bruce G. Bastin, Kevin C. Lent
