  • Patent number: 6124901
Abstract: The present invention provides an improvement in the mounting of a cathode-ray tube within a cabinet. The cathode-ray tube includes a glass envelope having a faceplate panel, a funnel and a neck. The panel includes a faceplate that is surrounded by a peripheral sidewall. • Patent number: 5730887
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, a display apparatus 8 comprises a color CRT 10 having an evacuated envelope 11 with a faceplate panel 12 sealed to one end of a funnel 15 that is closed at the other end by a neck 14. The faceplate panel has a luminescent screen 22 on an interior surface thereof. A shadow mask 25 is located in proximity to the screen. The shadow mask comprises a metal sheet having a central portion and an exterior portion with a plurality of apertures 40, 43 therethrough. An electron gun 26 is disposed within the neck for generating and directing electron beams 28 toward the screen. A deflection yoke 30 is disposed around the envelope at the junction of the neck and the funnel. The yoke deflects the beams to scan a raster across the screen.

  • Patent number: 4076366
Abstract: The base comprises a tubular housing adapted to fit over the exhaust tubulation of an electron tube stem, and a wafer flange extending outwardly from the open end thereof. The flange is apertured to receive an array of conductors of the stem. A recess is provided in the wafer flange facing the stem and a passageway communicating therewith is provided through the base separate from the housing cavity for the purpose of injecting a dielectric material into the recess around some of the stem conductors. The passageway may, e.g., be through the flange or in the housing wall.A shoulder is provided on the recessed face of the wafer flange to provide relief for random protuberances on the periphery of the stem to permit non-tilted mounting of the base on the stem.
