  • Patent number: 10784756
Abstract: An electric machine having a housing assembly and a stator assembly coupled with a rotor assembly. A plurality of MOSFET assemblies are operably coupled with the stator assembly. The MOSFET assemblies are disposed in openings defined by the housing assembly and include a carrier that is secured within the openings with a press-fit engagement. The carrier defines an interior space extending the full longitudinal length of the carrier and includes at least one planar mounting surface wherein a MOSFET is mounted on the planar mounting surface. In some embodiments, the housing assembly includes an aluminum heat exchange member that defines an opening in which a MOSFET assembly is installed. The carrier may be formed by extruding copper and include longitudinally extending ribs that engage the housing assembly in press fit engagement. A method of manufacturing an electric machine is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10380110
Abstract: Provided are technical solutions for preparing and using a cache of social media post data. In an example, a database of social media posts is queried for matching posts and respective metadata for each matching post. Index item data describing one or more respective attributes of each matching post is gathered. For each of the matching posts, the respective index item data is combined with the respective metadata to form combined data. The matching posts and the combined data for each matching post are stored in the cache of social media post data. The cache can be indexed. The cache index can be subsequently queried to provide, for further analysis, social media data which matches specific attributes.

  • Patent number: 10288668
Abstract: An arc fault sensor disposed on a circuit board proximate to a current carrying trace. The arc fault sensor includes a magnetic flux concentrator (MFC). The MFC includes a first flange and a second flange that are joined by a center post. Each of the first and second flanges have a cross sectional area that is larger than the center post. A sense coil winding is wound around the center post. The arc fault sensor generates an output voltage that is proportional to a rate of change of current in the current carrying conductor. For a given diameter of the sense coil winding, the output voltage is enhanced by the ratio of the cross-sectional areas of the flanges relative to the cross-sectional area of the center post. Methods of manufacturing and utilizing the aforementioned arc fault sensor are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9780438
Abstract: Space- and cost-efficient antenna apparatus and methods of making and using the same. In one embodiment, the antenna is formed using a deposition process, whereby a conductive fluid or other material is deposited directly on one or more interior components of a host device (e.g., cellular phone or tablet computer). The antenna can be formed in a substantially three-dimensional “loop” shape, and obviates several costly and environmentally unfriendly processing steps and materials associated with prior art antenna manufacturing approaches.

  • Publication number: 20170129517
Abstract: A body for a blow-molded waste cart and a waste cart having a blow-molded hollow body with four upstanding side walls and corner sections therebetween, a floor, and a circumferential compression flange around the side walls and corner sections is disclosed. The waste cart may also include an axle and wheels mounted to a side wall and a handle assembly with lid also mounted to a side wall. The circumferential compression flange may have a generally consistent width and thickness at each of the side walls and corner sections and the lid rim meets the circumferential compression flange when the lid is closed. A method of forming a blow-molded waste cart body is also disclosed. The process includes melting a polymer material to form a parison, enclosing the parison in a main mold, pressurizing the parison within the mold and moving a secondary mold section onto the main mold squeezing the polymer outward to a gap between the secondary mold and main mold to form the circumferential flange.
