Abstract: A wheelbarrow propulsion device and methods of its use are described. Embodiments of the wheelbarrow propulsion device enable a user to push against the device with the user's abdomen, in order to help propel a wheelbarrow. Some embodiments are adapted to fold out of the way when not needed, and some are adapted to yield if a user falls onto the device, thereby reducing likelihood or severity of injury to the user.
