Abstract: A wireless mobile device in a group of wireless mobile devices, configured for wireless communication with a locator device and one or more neighbor wireless mobile devices in the group, configured to obtain a neighbor information list comprising positioning information relative to the neighbor wireless mobile devices, and broadcast a location data message comprising an identity of the wireless mobile device, the neighbor information list and a message authentication code. A locator device, configured for wireless communication with a group of wireless mobile devices and for locating a target wireless mobile device in the group, configured to determine that the target wireless mobile device is not in wireless communication with the locator device, and search for the target wireless mobile device based on the neighbor information lists in the location data messages received from the wireless mobile devices in the group until positioning information of the target wireless mobile device is found.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides an authentication method for a satellite-based navigation system that in some implementations includes: obtaining, by an authentication server, a plurality of message authentication bundles from a plurality of reference receiver stations, each message authentication bundle comprising at least one hash for authenticating a corresponding SNS message received by a respective reference receiver station from at least one satellite of the SNS; inserting, by the authentication server at least a subset of the hashes of the obtained message authentication bundles into a probabilistic data structure (PDS), which forms at least a part of a validation filter for authenticating a corresponding subset of SNS messages; and distributing the validation filter to at least one receiver-side device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an electric or motorized toothbrush. The toothbrush contains a brush head having bristles that rotate in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction in a non-oscillating manner. An elongated handle contains a motor, rechargeable batteries and a rotatable shaft to rotate the bristles in a desired direction. The bristles are rotated using manual control buttons disposed on the handle. Typically, a clockwise rotation is performed for cleaning top teeth and a counterclockwise rotation is performed for cleaning bottom teeth. The toothbrush enables users to change the brush direction for top and bottom teeth without having to switch hands.

In general, the presented technique categorizes medical images based on the type of images. For each category, a type of standard image is computed which represents the typical characteristics of images within a category. Then, exemplary images in a category are compared to the standard image for that category to establish an acceptable difference between actual images and the standard image for the category under consideration. When a medical image is to be examined for possible acquisition errors, it is categorized and a measure of difference between the image and the standard image for the category is computed. If the measure of difference falls outside the acceptable difference for the category, the image is deemed to contain an acquisition error and an alert is issued.

For each image being compressed, only the difference between the image and the standard image is compressed. Due to the high level of similarity between images in the same category, the aforementioned difference is typically small and therefore a high compression ratio can be achieved.

For example, the calcium carbonate crystals can be formed through the use of two or more doses of slaked lime slurry in the presence of a substrate. A determination is made of relative priorities of the subgroups and a quorum is awarded to the subgroup having a highest relative priority. The relative priorities are determined by policy rules that evaluate comparative server node application state information. The server node application state information may include one or more of client connectivity, application priority, resource connectivity, processing capability, memory availability, and input/output resource availability, etc. The policy rules evaluate the application state information for each subgroup and can assign different weights to different types of application state information. An interface may be provided for receiving policy rules specified by a cluster application.

Abstract: A method and system are provided for conducting a cluster software version upgrade in a fault tolerant and highly available manner. There are two phases to the upgrade. The first phase is an upgrade of the software binaries of each individual member of the cluster, while remaining cluster members remain online. Completion of the first phase is a pre-requisite to entry into the second phase. Upon completion of the first phase, a coordinated cluster transition is performed during which the cluster coordination component performs any required upgrade to its own protocols and data structures and drives all other software components through the component specific upgrade. After all software components complete their upgrades and any required data conversion, the cluster software upgrade is complete. A shared version control record is provided to manage transition of the cluster members through the cluster software component upgrade.
