  • Publication number: 20230209352
Abstract: The present disclosure provides an authentication method for a satellite-based navigation system that in some implementations includes: obtaining, by an authentication server, a plurality of message authentication bundles from a plurality of reference receiver stations, each message authentication bundle comprising at least one hash for authenticating a corresponding SNS message received by a respective reference receiver station from at least one satellite of the SNS; inserting, by the authentication server at least a subset of the hashes of the obtained message authentication bundles into a probabilistic data structure (PDS), which forms at least a part of a validation filter for authenticating a corresponding subset of SNS messages; and distributing the validation filter to at least one receiver-side device.

  • Publication number: 20220370179
Abstract: The present invention relates to an electric or motorized toothbrush. The toothbrush contains a brush head having bristles that rotate in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction in a non-oscillating manner. An elongated handle contains a motor, rechargeable batteries and a rotatable shaft to rotate the bristles in a desired direction. The bristles are rotated using manual control buttons disposed on the handle. Typically, a clockwise rotation is performed for cleaning top teeth and a counterclockwise rotation is performed for cleaning bottom teeth. The toothbrush enables users to change the brush direction for top and bottom teeth without having to switch hands.

  • Publication number: 20210112151
Abstract: A method is proposed to automatically, securely and directly notify and inform, selected contacts in the digital address book of a user's device when there is a change in the user's contact information. A system is proposed that does not require the user to store or maintain private data to any third party service server or central database repository in the cloud or not in the cloud. The proposed system employs TetherTap (“TT”) Privacy by Design (“PbD”) architecture resulting in full EU GDPR and California CCPA regulatory compliance, storing and transmitting data with default address book and peer to peer (“P2P”) communication platforms. The method proposed does not require receiver devices to be programmed with system functionality, however, it is designed to allow the receiver of an update from the user to set up and install reciprocal functionality.

  • Publication number: 20180073777
Abstract: Solar energy is collected and used for various industrial processes, such as oilfield applications, e.g. generating steam that is injected downhole, enabling enhanced oil recovery. Solar energy is indirectly collected using a heal transfer fluid in a solar collector, delivering heat to a heat exchanger that in turn delivers heal into oilfield feedwater, producing hotter water or steam. Solar energy is directly collected by directly generating steam with solar collectors, and then injecting the steam downhole. Solar energy is collected to preheat water that is then fed into fuel-fired steam generators that in turn produce steam for downhole injection. Solar energy is collected to produce electricity via a Rankine cycle turbine generator, and rejected heat warms feedwater for fuel-fired steam generators. Solar energy is collected (directly or indirectly) to deliver heat to a heater-treater, with optional fuel-fired additional heat generation.

  • Patent number: 7860286
Abstract: A medical image acquisition error detection technique is presented which exploits the special characteristics of medical images to detect possible errors. In general, the presented technique categorizes medical images based on the type of images. For each category, a type of standard image is computed which represents the typical characteristics of images within a category. Then, exemplary images in a category are compared to the standard image for that category to establish an acceptable difference between actual images and the standard image for the category under consideration. When a medical image is to be examined for possible acquisition errors, it is categorized and a measure of difference between the image and the standard image for the category is computed. If the measure of difference falls outside the acceptable difference for the category, the image is deemed to contain an acquisition error and an alert is issued.

  • Patent number: 7697741
Abstract: A medical image compression and decompression technique is presented which exploits the special characteristics of medical images so as to increase the achievable compression ratio over existing generic image compression techniques. In general, the presented technique categorizes medical images based on the type of images. Medical images within the same category will typically have a very high level of similarity to each other. For each category, a type of standard image is computed which represents the typical characteristics of images within a category. For each image being compressed, only the difference between the image and the standard image is compressed. Due to the high level of similarity between images in the same category, the aforementioned difference is typically small and therefore a high compression ratio can be achieved.
