Patent number: 11657923Abstract: A feedwater sparger repair assembly includes a cover plate having a partial cylindrical shape and having a nozzle opening and a pair of bolt openings extending through the cover plate. A nozzle is attached to the cover plate and surrounds the nozzle opening. A pair of T-bolts extend through a respective one of the pair of bolt openings and each include a shank having a threaded portion extending from an exterior side of the cover plate and a partial cylindrical head portion disposed at an end of the shank on an interior side of the cover plate. A pair of nuts are engaged with the threaded portion of the pair of T-bolts. The feedwater sparger repair assembly is adapted to be mounted to an opening that is cut into a core spray pipe in order to repair/replace a sparger that becomes cracked.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2021Date of Patent: May 23, 2023Assignee: GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy Americas LLCInventors: Bruce John Lentner, Adrian M. Mistreanu, Jack Toshio Matsumoto

Patent number: 11428564Abstract: A remote pulse TDR liquid level measurement system and method may include inserting a probe into a body of water. The probe has a probe/air interface, and the body of water includes an air/water interface. A narrow pulse is remotely transmitted to the probe via a coaxial cable. A first impedance mismatch is received from the probe/air interface in a form of a positive reflected pulse, and a second impedance mismatch is received from the air/water interface in a form of a negative reflected pulse. A time between the positive reflected pulse and the negative reflected pulse is calculated, and the time is converted to a distance, the distance being indicative of the water level.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2015Date of Patent: August 30, 2022Assignee: GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy Americas LLCInventors: Yogeshwar Dayal, William Francis Splichal, Jr., Steven D. Sawyer, Eric Rankin Gardner, Bruce John Lentner, Philip O. Eisermann
