  • Patent number: 5480308
Abstract: Each block of a set of wooden blocks bears indicia of the tree species of the wood from which the block is made. Preferred embodiments may include the following features. The blocks are configured as building blocks for children. The indicia on each block show the living tree from which the lumber for the block is derived. The indicia are laser etched upon the blocks. The indicia comprise a picture of a living tree, divided into two portions, one portion showing the tree foliated and one portion showing the tree defoliated. The indicia comprise a picture of a leaf of the living tree, the common name of the tree species and the taxonomic name. The blocks are accompanied by a data sheet further describing the woods and trees of the blocks of the set.

  • Patent number: 5131620
Abstract: A rack for suspending an electrical or mechanical component below a support surface. The rack is quickly assembled with relatively few parts, but it is easily adjustable to a accommodate a large variety of component shapes and dimensions. The rack includes two loops each having a right angle member, a strap or belt, and a buckle. The two loops are associated with a plate member which supports and separates the loops. The plate member is placed on the upper surface of the electrical component to be suspended and the two loops are then tightly secured about the component. The resulting assembly is then attached to the support surface. In a preferred embodiment, a bracket is secured to the support surface and the plate member of the assembly is telescopically engaged with the bracket, horizontally sliding the assembly into position below the support surface.

  • Patent number: 5096433
Abstract: An electrified space dividing panel system having a plurality of panels, with each panel having a power module which includes a terminal block having terminals for receiving up to and including four plug-in receptacles. The power module includes two flexible cables, one either fixed to or releasably engaged with, each longitudinal end thereof, with the flexible cables each having a length such that they reach to opposite ends of the associated panel. Each flexible cable has a T-shaped connector at its free end, with the T-shaped connector having first and second sets of hermaphroditic contacts arranged at right angles to one another, and first and second hermaphroditic housings disposed to respectively surround the first and second sets of hermaphroditic contacts. The T-shaped connectors of adjacent panels plug directly together at the intersection of two, three or four panels, eliminating the need for jumpers.

  • Patent number: 4874027
Abstract: An open office space dividing arrangement in which both simple and complex work station configurations are constructed from a small number of different free-standing units which share no walls with adjacent work stations. The units may be individually moved without dismantling, and without disturbing adjacent units or work stations to reconfigure a complex work station at the present location of the units, or the units may be moved as a whole to a different location and placed in the same or in a diferent work station configuration. Each unit is constructed according to the same concept in which a plurality of modules are vertically stacked to a desired height, with each module having two or three integrally joined sections which form diferent walls of the unit. The modules are foldable along one or two bend lines which separate and define the lateral sections, between shipping and functional configurations.

  • Patent number: 4762072
Abstract: An electrified desk and space dividing panel assembly which includes an electrical raceway at the bottoms of the panels, an electrical service trough at back edge of the desk, and an electrical upfeed arrangement which interconnects the electrical power and communication circuits in the raceway with terminal blocks and receptacles in the service trough. The electrical upfeed arrangement, in addition to the electrical cables, includes a housing having telescopically engaged sections which enables the housing to lock to both the service trough and a baseboard cover on the raceway, while simultaneously adjusting the housing to the height of the service trough above floor level. A cover for the service trough includes two or more independent lid assemblies, each of which is mountable in one of four different orientations.

  • Patent number: 4634212
Abstract: A terminal block mount for mounting a terminal block within a structural frame member. The terminal block includes opposed pressable tab members on the top and bottom sides which permit the terminal block to be snapped into a terminal block receiving aperture in the frame when detents extending into the aperture snap into a space or slot between the opposed tab members. The terminal block can be removed by depressing one of the tab members on each side of the terminal block.

  • Patent number: 4500060
Abstract: A mounting pedestal for supporting a computer terminal display device or the like is disclosed. The mounting pedestal provides for 360.degree. rotation of the support platform while permitting only limited front to rear tilting of the support platform. A base member includes an annular depression in the form of a segment of a sphere in its upper surface into which a complimentary spherical segment on the underside of the tilt platform rests to provide for 360.degree. rotation of the tilt platform with respect to the stationary base. Tilting in only a front to rear mode is controlled by a pair of laterally extending cylindrical segments on the underside of the tilt platform.

  • Patent number: 4013254
Abstract: A locking mechanism for locking a backless wall mounted cabinet or the like to a wall panel or partition having a pair of spaced slotted standards thereon adapted to receive a plurality of equidistantly spaced linearly aligned hook-shaped tabs on the rearward edges of the cabinet side walls. The locking mechanism includes a locking tab having a pair of spaced detents thereon, which locking tab is slidable from a first position adapted to enter the slots in the slotted standard with the hook-shaped tabs to a second position which locks the hook-shaped tabs into the slotted standard. A spring-urged locking pin is constructed and arranged to retain the locking tab in its second position.
