  • Publication number: 20240369659
Abstract: A method for magnetic resonance imaging includes performing a pre-scan using a spin-echo diffusion acquisition with a one-time MRI pulse sequence to measure phase differences between diffusion and non-diffusion acquisitions, which correspond to an estimation of eddy-current-induced phase in a diffusion-prepared sequence; and performing a scan using arbitrary waveform shim currents applied to a shim array during the acquisition, wherein the shim currents are determined from the measured phase differences from the pre-scan to create opposite phase maps to compensate eddy-current or system-imperfection-induced phase differences; wherein the scan and pre-scan are performed using an MRI apparatus with a channel integrated receiver and the shim array.

  • Patent number: 6113745
Abstract: Methods and compositions are provided which decrease the risk and spillage associated with discharging coke from a coking vessel. The risk to workers is decreased by eliminating the need for workers to be near the coking vessel while the head is being removed. The spillage is decreased by modifying the effective diameter of the coke chute inlet in a manner which allows it to catch any materials discharged from the coking vessel both during and after the opening of the bottom head. The process can enhance drum draining and further eliminate the need for process piping to facilitate the draining of water from the coking vessel.

  • Patent number: 5835568
Abstract: A facility is disposed in a telecommunications network to provide an alternative to retrying the placing of a call to a telephone station when a busy signal is encountered. More particularly, if a subscriber places a telephone call to a called station set that is busy with another telephone call, then the facility notes that fact and terminates the subscriber's telephone call. Thereafter, the facility places a telephone call to the called station and, when the call is answered, announces at least the calling subscriber's telephone number and allows the called party to optionally extend the call back to the original calling subscriber. If the call is not answered, then the call back is terminated, and the placement of another call to the called station is rescheduled for a subsequent time.
