    Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a mesh seat for use with a piece of ride-on power equipment. The mesh seat includes a lower frame and a bottom mesh coupled to the lower frame forming a bottom hammock surface for the rider. The mesh seat includes an upper frame and a back mesh coupled to the upper frame forming a back hammock surface for the rider. The mesh seat includes a safety interlock coupled to the lower frame and positioned under the bottom mesh in order to be engaged by the lower torso of the rider. The mesh seat includes a base adapted to be coupled to the piece of ride-on power equipment, and the lower frame is coupled to the base.
