  • Patent number: 4297808
Abstract: A toy tethered for orbital movement and connected to one end of a cable coiled about a drum in a circular housing rotatable about one end of a hollow handle which contains a coiled torsional spring connected to said drum to yieldably resist uncoiling of said cable from said drum, the handle being held manually, and said toy having noise-generating mechanism operable as the toy is whirled about the handle through the air. One embodiment of toy comprises a toy aeroplane having a propeller supported at the front end of a shaft supported axially in the forward end of the fuselage of said aeroplane and the inner end of said shaft supporting a rotatable impeller operable against a diaphragm in said fuselage to produce a staccato-like noise resembling that of a motor.

  • Patent number: 4289109
Abstract: A toy pistol formed by molding from relatively rigid plastic material and comprising a hollow elongated frame portion having a handle depending from one end, a composite tubular barrel and coaxial cylinder rearward thereof and of larger diameter than said barrel and supported within the frame, a piston slidable in the cylinder and having a rearwardly extending piston rod surrounded by a compression spring and having a transverse shoulder member adjacent but spaced from the piston, a trigger pivotally mounted adjacent the handle and having a sear engageable with the shoulder member when the piston is in rearward cocked position and the spring is compressed, and a simulated hollow breech slide slidable longitudinally upon the upper rearward part of the frame portion above the handle and operable when moved rearwardly to retract the piston rod and piston to cocked position to compress the spring and permit the sear to engage the transverse shoulder as aforesaid.

  • Patent number: 4269596
Abstract: A toy type flight simulating console for a toy aeroplane comprising a relatively small compact housing completely enclosing all operating components and mechanism except the outer ends of a simulated joystick and motor throttle lever as well as a vertical staff projecting a short distance upwardly from the rear portion of said housing, an instrument panel on the front face of said housing and the housing having a base readily adapted to be supported upon a table top, a model toy aeroplane detachably connected to the upper end of said staff and enclosing an electric D.C.

  • Patent number: 4245425
Abstract: A toy horse supported on wheels which reciprocate and oscillate the four legs and bob the pivoted head as the horse is pulled along a surface, the horse also having a hollow body containing a noise-making unit which imitates the clip-clop noise of a trotting horse by means of a sound panel which is hit by two elongated clappers of different lengths operated by a compound type cam entity operated by at least one of the rotating wheels to strike against the sound panel in a pattern to produce such clip-clop noise.

  • Patent number: 4227508
Abstract: A toy pistol for shooting ping pong balls having a frame with a barrel portion at the forward end and a handle extending downward from the rearward end, a magazine extending upward and rearward therefrom, a ram movable along longitudinal guide member in the frame rearward from said barrel portion, a compression spring to fire the ram forward, and a T-shaped combination trigger and sear having a head with a sear movable generally parallel to and below said guide members, the stem of said T-shaped member being movable into the forward portion of said handle and said head having pins on the opposite end movable in forward and rearward guide slots in the frame, the rearward slot extending rearward and downward, whereby near the end of rearward movement of said T-shaped member the rear end of said head is moved downward to disengage the sear on said head from said ram which is fired forwardly by said compression spring and a tension spring automatically restores the T-shaped member forwardly to starting position.

  • Patent number: 4225140
Abstract: A target-type shooting toy having a target area in the rear of a housing and a transparent front wall having a swivel socket in the lower portion to mount swivelly a projectile guide member including a barrel and a projectile return channel, a handle and trigger to move and aim the barrel and actuate a spring-pressed shooting plunger, and projectile return means to return spent projectiles automatically to said return channel for successive movement into the barrel for subsequent shooting. Score recording and audible hit indicating means are actuated by returning projectiles.

  • Patent number: 4193223
Abstract: A wheeled toy having an inertia type flywheel to drive at least one wheel to propel the toy along a surface after applied force has pushed the toy along a surface sufficient to store kinetic energy in the flywheel, the toy including in the body thereof an electric generating device also driven by said flywheel to activate an auxiliary electrical device on said toy, such as a sounding device, electric light bulb to illuminate the same, or otherwise. The toy also includes a commutator operable to effect intermittent actuation of the auxiliary electric device and thereby cause flashing of the electric bulb when said auxiliary device is an electric bulb.
