  • Patent number: 6897241
Abstract: A method is presented for the preparation of topically applied compositions used for the treatment of regional pain, especially sympathetically mediated pain. NMDA receptor antagonists, such as ketamine or dextromethorphan, and one or more tricyclic antidepressants, such as amitriptyline, in combination, are employed.

  • Publication number: 20030060463
Abstract: A safe and relatively simple method is presented for the preparation of topically applied compositions used for the treatment of pain, especially sympathetically mediated pain, regardless of cause, in persons of either sex. The method utilized the periodic application of topical compositions containing three classes of therapeutically effective agents prepared in suitable bases, to the skin areas affected by the pain. The three classes of therapeutic active agents are NMDA receptor antagonists, anticholinergic agents and sympathetic blocking agents. Each can be used alone or in combinations. The method provides significant pain relief which begins within minutes and lasts greater than 2 hours. The prepared compositions are non-toxic and have minimal side effects. No habit forming or addicting medications are used as therapeutically active ingredients. The prepared compositions can be self administered or can be administered by another person at home or in any locale.

  • Patent number: 6387957
Abstract: Methods are presented whereby regional pain relief is achieved through the periodic topical administration of compositions comprising NMDA receptor antagonists, by applying said compositions to the skin above areas affected by pain.

  • Patent number: 6197830
Abstract: A method is presented whereby sympathetically mediated pain relief is achieved through the periodic topical administration of compositions comprising tricyclic antipressants mixed with one or more topical bases, and applying to the skin above areas affected by pain. Dextromethorphan or ketamine from the pharmacological class of NMDA receptor antagonists is optionally combined. The topical vehicle bases which are needed to drive the pharmacological agents through the dermis into the subcutaneous tissue, either singly or in combinations, may be selected from the group comprising cocoa butter, aloe vera gel, aquafor, petroleum jelly, lecithin, and standard cold cream.

  • Patent number: 5571794
Abstract: A cosmetic treatment for inducing upper and lower lip augmentation in humans, wherein an active ingredient encouraging vasodilatation, preferably an ultra highly diluted homeopathic, ultra highly diluted element, local irritant or direct local vasodilator or a combination of two or more is administered by topical application or sublingually or gum by chewing. The vasodilators singly or in combinations of preferably ultra highly diluted elements, homeopathics, local irritant or vasodilators are diluted to preferably ten to fifteen percent for topical administration in a cosmetic cream or cosmetic gel or oral sublingual drops diluted in a 2% alcohol base or a five percent fructose-coated chewing gum. The treatment results in a significant non-invasive augmentation of both the upper and lower lip that onsets within a few moments and is effective for a duration on an average of four and one half hours.
