Patent number: 11826801Abstract: There is disclosed a method of producing a soil remediant from liquid organic waste material in which the liquid organic waste material is concurrently pasteurised and digested by thermophilic aerobic digestion in the liquid phase in a single digester vessel. The organic waste material in the digester is maintained continuously at a temperature of at least 70° C. for at least an hour and the liquid organic waste material comprises at least 70% water and can be pumped. After a period of at least an hour a small amount of pasteurised organic waste material is removed and a corresponding amount of fresh organic waste material is added to the single digester vessel such that the temperature is maintained in a comfort zone of the thermophilic bacteria. In a preferred embodiment the thermophilic aerobic digestion is facilitated by micro-organisms including crenarchaeota. The liquid organic waste material can be combined with a microporous adsorbent.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 2018Date of Patent: November 28, 2023Assignee: Agri-Tech Organic Solutions LimitedInventors: Bruce Michael Drew, Robert Anthony Severwright, Robert Leslie Young, Richard Curd, Roger Benfield

Patent number: 11498716Abstract: A method of applying a linerless label to an article wherein a web of joined labels is die cut from a web of label material in which the adhesive is protected by a water-soluble coating which provides a cushion between an anvil and die cutting means. The water-soluble coating is at least partially removed by exposure to water in a press following die-cutting, in a label applicator, or in an off-line unit. The web of joined labels may be wound and unwound between each of the above options. The web of joined labels may be separated in a label applicator by breaking a weakened boundary between adjoining labels or by cutting at a boundary between the label and the adjoining label. The linerless label may contain anti-counterfeit means that may be subsequently identified overtly and/or covertly.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2019Date of Patent: November 15, 2022Assignee: Linermist LimitedInventors: Bruce Michael Drew, Michael John Cooper, David Nicholas Edwards

Patent number: 11298912Abstract: A pre-assembled kit of cut shapes disposed upon a peelable or repositionable adhesive by means of an affixing adhesive protected by a water-soluble coating which is solubilised either prior to and/or on application of the kit to a surface which may be moistened prior to application. When the water-soluble coating is solubilised, in whole or in part, by placing in contact with the moistened surface, it will expose and/or activate, in whole or in part, the pressure-sensitive adhesive beneath the water-soluble coating to the surface to which it is to be applied and the pre-assembled kit will become affixed to the surface. Alternatively, solubilisation of the water-soluble coating may be provided by applying water, preferably warm water, to the water-soluble coating prior to applying the pre-assembled kit to the surface. A method of producing the pre-assembled kit of cut shapes is provided.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2018Date of Patent: April 12, 2022Assignee: Aquasam LimitedInventors: Bruce Michael Drew, David Charles Welch, Michael John Cooper, Shilpan Pravin Patel

Publication number: 20130334090Abstract: A flexible, semi-rigid or rigid container (1) made substantially from polymeric material has micro-porous mineral particles (7) embedded within it in order to increase its permeability and/or its compostability or degradability and to extend the shelf life of fresh produce (3) packed within it. The container (1) may additionally be provided with an anti-microbial coating on an internal surface or upon a substrate such as a bubble pad or self-adhesive label.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 27, 2012Publication date: December 19, 2013Applicant: Agri-Tech Global Technologies LimitedInventor: Bruce Michael Drew

Publication number: 20120061014Abstract: A face material is coated with a pressure sensitive adhesive which is in turn coated with a water soluble protective layer. The opposite printed side of the face material may be coated with hydrophobic lacquer. The adhesive is dried or cooled before the protective coating is applied. The protective layer is applied by extrusion or solution casting. Alternatively a reusable liner can be coated with the protective material and adhesive before the protected adhesive is transferred onto a face material.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 11, 2011Publication date: March 15, 2012Applicant: ARROW COATED PRODUCTS LTD.Inventors: Shilpan Pravinchandra Patel, Bruce Michael Drew

Publication number: 20090072015Abstract: A blank from which may be erected a protective enclosed tamper evident container for the packaging of articles during transportation and storage has five aligned panels that form opposed roof and floor walls having a dome shape connected at opposite ends of the container by side walls having a concave shape. The centre panel forming the floor wall has opposed closure panels that fold over the roof wall to close the open sides of the container and are provided with locking tongues that engage slots in the roof wall to secure the container. The tongues and slots provide a tamper evident mechanism for securing the container such that no adhesive is required during the erection process in order to hold the container in its closed position.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 9, 2005Publication date: March 19, 2009Inventors: Bruce Michael Drew, Michael Edward Parkes, David Brian Edwards, William John McCarthy

Publication number: 20040142131Abstract: Thermoformed water-soluble packages are known, but some suffer from “shrink-back”, which prevents the volume of a formed cavity being fully utilised at the filling stage. To overcome this the present invention proposes a packaging system wherein each individual container (25) of a multiplicity of such containers all joined together in a group side by side in a web comprises an inner water-soluble or dispersible encapsulate (25) enclosed wholly within and thermoformed simultaneously with a protective external water-insoluble casing (19, 11), and each of the encapsulate and the casing is, separately, in the form of a thermoformed hollow body and a lid (23) and is made from two films (15, 12 and 19, 11) bound together by one common seal, so that each encapsulate is in contact only with the inner wall of its casing.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 13, 2003Publication date: July 22, 2004Inventors: David Brian Edwards, William John McCarthy, Bruce Michael Drew
