  • Patent number: 6094958
Abstract: The housing of a metal-working machine is comprised of a pair of parallel, vertically oriented, laterally spaced, smooth-surfaced plates that define a work zone at the upper end of the housing. Components of the machine are conveniently mounted within the space between the housing plates, which plates provide square reference and guide surfaces therefor, and the machine may be of modular construction.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 5, 1999
Date of Patent: August 1, 2000
    Inventor: Bruce R. Good
  • Patent number: 5456190
Abstract: Angled leg structures on the skid permit nesting and optimize force accommodation, and an intermedial runner component is disposed for constraining engagement with an underlying skid, to enhance stack stability. A cradle-like skid may be employed to support cylindrical loads, and a skid having a flat, rectangular upper surface may be employed for supporting cubic loads; the cradle form of skid can be assembled with a rectangular table component to provide a flat supporting surface thereon.

  • Patent number: 5231934
Abstract: A circular skid is convertible to provide a square supporting surface by extending hingedly mounted triangular panels from closed, inwardly directed positions to open, outwardly directly ones. The skid utilizes leg structure that consists of an assemblage of three tubular pieces fixed in side-by-side, coplanar relationship to one another.

  • Patent number: 4890560
Abstract: A circular skid is provided with structure for internally accommodating banding material, and is adapted to be transported from place-to-place by rolling on edge. The skid is especially suited for carrying one or more coils of product of a range of diameters, and a number of the skids can be stacked, one upon another.

  • Patent number: 4732528
Abstract: A returnable skid for coiled products employs separator posts that are storable within other components. The same assembly that mounts the posts during use also cooperates with the corresponding assembly of a like skid to interengage them in stacked condition. Both of these features facilitate transport of the empty skids. The construction provided minimizes the amount of extraneous packaging materials that are required to maintain the coils of product in place on the skid and to properly protect them, and the coils can be disposed either standing upright or lying flat on the skid.
