    Abstract: An adjustable keyboard support is disclosed constituted by a rear housing that pivotally supports one end of a parallel link mechanism. A front housing is carried by the other end of the parallel link mechanism, and pivotally supports a keyboard mounting plate. The parallel link mechanism permits upward and downward movement of the keyboard mounting plate without change in the tilt of that plate. A gas cylinder mechanism coupled to the front housing changes the vertical position of the same, and a slide plate adjustment mechanism provides forward and backward movement of the keyboard mounting plate.

    Abstract: A spine assembly for supporting desk tops and panels and accessories and providing for the passage of utility and communications lines to the desk tops and panels and accessories, as needed. A housing is utilized open at a bottom portion for receiving the utility and communications lines. An internal strut is included within the housing at a top portion of the housing. The internal strut serves as a support for brackets which extend upwardly in turn to support desk tops and panels and accessories as well as a cover assembly. The cover assembly provides an opening through which utility and communications line pass from the interior of the housing to the exterior thereof. In addition, brackets extend through the cover assembly for supporting panels and accessories above the cover assembly. The spine assembly is free-standing, and may be closed off by end panels as an individual item or joined to one or more other spine assemblies to create a system of furniture.

    Abstract: Apparatus for adjusting a back support of a chair which includes a bracket through which the back support slides. A position stop of flexible sheet material is mounted adjacent to the back support. A stop member is included on the back support, while the position stop includes apertures therein. The stop member is engaged in one of the apertures to lock the back support in position. To move the back support, the position stop is flexed to a disengaged position in which the stop member is free from the apertures. After being moved, the position stop is allowed to return to the engaged position in which the stop member is engaged within another aperture.

    Abstract: An method item of furniture in which tufting buttons have both a decorative tufting effect and serve to attach a padding to a frame. The tufting buttons have internally threaded shank portions, and screws are threaded into such shank portions to secure the padding to a frame. A cushion assembly is provided by forming ridges on the shank portions of the tufting buttons and utilizing washer-type fasteners that are attached to the shank portions to hold the tufting buttons in place.A methods of producing an upholstered item of furniture that utilizes a flexible plate which is substantially flat in the non-flexed state and which is flexed to and held in a desired curvature in the completed item of furniture. The plate is upholstered in the substantially flat, non-flexed state. Thereafter the upholstered plate is flexed to a desired curvature and secured in its flexed state.
