  • Patent number: 7649860
Abstract: A pilot searcher for CDMA and GPS signals. In one aspect, the searcher is operated in conjunction with a sample buffer in a “real-time” or “off-line” mode. The writing/reading of samples to/from the buffer may be performed in a TDM manner via a common port, and samples may be decimated and packed prior to storing in the buffer. In another aspect, the overall search for pilots is partitioned into a number of tasks, with each task corresponding to a search over a given sample segment and based on a particular set of parameter values. The tasks may be stored in a queue and performed one at a time based on their order in the queue. Prior to performing a new task, the parameter values for that task is downloaded to a set of configuration registers. The parameters may be ordered and linked such that only new values are downloaded.

  • Patent number: 7016329
Abstract: A system and method for assembling a single data stream from multiple instances of that data stream is described. Data transmitted from a cellular telephone subscriber unit is received by a set of base transceiver stations. Each base transceiver station performs various error detection procedures on segments of the data referred to as frames. These error detection procedures may include CRC check sum verification, Yamamoto metric calculation, re-encoded signal error rate calculation, or a combination thereof. The results of these error detection procedures are placed into a frame quality metric. The frame, frame quality metric, a time stamp and an address are placed into a packet that is transmitted from each base transceiver station to a base station controller which matches packets attempting to transmit the same information using the time stamp and selects one frame from the packets for further processing based on the associated frame quality metric.

Abstract: A novel and improved system and method for assembling a single data stream from multiple instances of that data stream is described. • Patent number: 6108536
Abstract: A system for displaying performance characteristics of a circuit in a telecommunications network. The system is adapted for use with a CDMA telecommunications network and includes a Markov call testing system for performance testing the telecommunications circuit. A computer stores the results of the performance test. Software running on the computer determines a subset of the results sufficient to reflect the performance of the telecommunications circuit. A monitor on the computer displays information corresponding to the subset. In the illustrative embodiment, the system further includes a method for determining if one or more receive antennas in the telecommunications network are balanced. The telecommunications circuit corresponds to a cell site modem chip in a base station. The subset includes a number of finger signal peaks. The number is determined by calculations performed on a scan set to determine a floor above which signal peaks are chosen for inclusion in the subset.
