Abstract: A gateway for providing consumer services is presented. The gateway includes a secure partition associated with a gateway and operable to control access to at least one utility service and a bundle associated with the secure partition. The gateway also includes a consumer service associated with the secure partition and an application programmer interface (API) bundle associated with the secure partition and providing at least one support function to the consumer service. In addition, the gateway includes a provisioning service associated with the secure partition and the API bundle, the provisioning service operable to install the consumer service, a billing service associated with the secure partition and the API bundle, the billing service operable to provide billing capabilities to the consumer service and a profile service associated with the secure partition and the API bundle, the profile service operable to store a user profile.

Abstract: A network router for coupling a Local Area Network to a Wide Area Network such as the Internet or an intranet includes a smart card device for receiving and reading a smart card. The smart card will include information needed for permitting the router to access the Internet or intranet, such as an access phone number, an encryption key, configuration data, and an ID and password. A specified security level can also be stored within the information on the smart card to restrict such access.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for adjusting the results of a seismic survey according to well log data obtained from wells within the survey region is disclosed. The disclosed method operates on one seismic horizon at a time, and first applies well log data, arranged by location of the wells in the survey region, to the seismic survey. Deviation values are calculated for each well location, as a signed difference between the actual depth data for the geological interface and a deduced horizon depth from the seismic survey. A difference function is evaluated for each survey point to be adjusted in the survey region (ranging from a single point to all survey points), preferably as a weighted average of the deviations at the wells, where the weighting is inversely related to the distance of the well from the survey point under adjustment.

Abstract: A method of producing a velocity volume for a seismic survey volume, based on two-way time seismic data and process velocity data, is disclosed. Two-way time seismic data is loaded into a computer for a plurality of seismic shot lines in the survey region, as are process velocities for common depth points (CDPs) in the survey region. The process velocities correspond to velocities used to perform normal move-out, dip move-out, migration and other imaging processes. The computer can display the two-way time information in cross-section or map views, and can display the velocity functions as a function of two-way time. The human analyst enters interpreted velocities, based on actual data or on visualization of the horizons, into the cross-sectional view of the seismic shot line, and then edits the input velocity data to produce a velocity function, for each CDP of interest, that matches the interpreted values.
