  • Patent number: 10076099
Abstract: A magnetic tracking tag for animals may detect the occurrence of a predation event. The tag may include a pH sensitive material that degrades in the environment of a predator's gut. The degradation of the pH sensitive material causes a change in a detectable magnetic field of the tag, which allows the tag to detect the predation event and adjust its operation accordingly.

    Filed: November 17, 2015
Date of Patent: September 18, 2018
Assignee: InnovaSea Marine Systems Canada Inc.
Inventors: Terrance William Fraser, Gary Donald Marsh, Chad Douglas Murphy, Douglas Bruce Oakley, Timothy Bruce Stone, Dale Mitchell Webber, Ryan Isaac Fielden, Kimberly Jean Miller, Mary Anne White, Aubrey Johannes Ingraham, Philip Ronald Huntley

  • Publication number: 20170118952
Abstract: A tracking tag for aquatic animals may detect the occurrence of a predation event. The tag may include a pH sensitive material that degrades in the environment of an animal's gut. The degradation of the pH sensitive material causes a change in a detectable characteristic of the tag, which allows the tag to detect the predation event and adjust its operation accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20150107373
Abstract: A process for measuring the friability of a material, such as a polymer bale, may include measuring the amount of force required to break-up a portion of the material. A corresponding testing apparatus for measuring the friability may include a device configured for breaking-up the portion of the material and measuring the force required to cause the break-up to occur.

  • Patent number: 6553719
Abstract: A motorized sliding door mechanism for a motor vehicle having a body structure having a door opening and door. The mechanism includes a motor and drum assembly mounted on the door and a cable system including cable runs anchored to spaced points on the body structure. One cable run is wrapped in one direction around the drum and extends to an anchor point proximate the rear edge of the door opening of the body structure and a second run is wrapped around the drum in an opposite direction and extends to a point at the rear end of a rear guide track for the door which is mounted to the body structure. The cable runs extend from the drum to the anchor points via a pivotal hinge and a guide block at the rear of the door for guiding the sliding movement of the door.

  • Patent number: 4746073
Abstract: A method and apparatus for physical separation of aleurone cell particles and pericarp-testa particles from commercial wheat bran, the method comprises removing from a fraction of aleurone cell particles and pericarp-testa articles within the sieve mesh range of larger than about 130 .mu.m and smaller than about 290 .mu.m, obtained from commerical wheat bran by subjecting the bran to hammer-milling whereby the bran is broken and reduced into particles which consist predominantly of pericarp-testa particles and aleurone cell particles and then sized to the sieve mesh range, a fraction of particles which are smaller than about 40 .mu.m and electrostatically charging the remaining aleurone cell particles and pericarp-testa particles.
