    Abstract: The present invention features nucleic acid trans-splicing molecules (e.g., pre-mRNA trans-splicing molecules (RTMs)) capable of correcting one or more mutations in the ABCA4 gene or the CEP290 gene. Such molecules are useful in the treatment of disorders associated with mutations in ABCA4, such as Stargardt Disease (e.g., Stargardt Disease 1) and disorders associated with a mutation in CEP290, such as Leber congenital amourosis 10 (LCA 10). Also provided by the invention described herein are methods of using the nucleic acid trans-splicing molecules for correcting mutations in ABCA4 and CEP290 and for treating disorders associated with mutations in ABCA4 and CEP290, such as Stargardt Disease and LCA 10.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provide a micromachined mirror assembly for controlling directions of optical signals in an optical sensing system. The micromachined mirror assembly includes a micro mirror and at least one piezoelectric actuator. The micro mirror is suspended over a substrate by at least one beam mechanically coupled to the micro mirror, and the at least one piezoelectric actuator is mechanically coupled to the at least one beam and is configured to drive the micro mirror via the at least one beam. The at least one piezoelectric actuator is configured to drive the micro mirror to tilt around a first axis based on a first electrical signal applied to the at least one piezoelectric actuator. The first electrical signal causes a piezoelectric material of the at least one piezoelectric actuator to expand in a first direction in parallel with the first axis.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a light-guide device, comprising a transmission body and a light filter, wherein one end of the transmission body receives incident light, and the other end emits highly collimating light; a microstructure portion is disposed on at least a part of the surface thereof; and a reflecting portion is disposed on an inner surface. The light filter is disposed on an outer surface adjacent to the other end of the transmission body, and has a refractive index less than that of the transmission body. After light enters the transmission body from one end, under the matching of the reflecting portion and the microstructure portion, the light travels in the transmission body along a path; and before leaving the transmission body from the other end, light greater than a specific angle is absorbed and eliminated by the light filter, thus highly collimating and uniform light is emitted.

In accordance with a first aspect, the coolant subsystem is separate from the feed to the processor reactor and is capable of circulating a coolant through the processor reactor. In accordance with a second aspect, the constituent elements of the fuel processor are housed in a cabinet, and the coolant subsystem is capable of cooling both the processor reactor and the interior of the cabinet. In various alternatives, the fuel processor can be employed to reform a fuel for a fuel cell power plant and/or may be used to provide thermal control for unrelated mechanical systems.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for producing a hydrogen-enriched reformate. The apparatus includes a fuel processor for converting a fuel to a reformate having fluctuations in pressure and or flow rate, means for reducing the fluctuations, a compression unit for compressing the reformate and one or more of a purification unit and a storage unit downstream of a compression unit. Means for reducing the fluctuations in the reformate can include one or more of a buffer and a conduit for providing a controlled flow of a supplemental fluid to an inlet of the compression unit. The supplemental fluid can include the compressed reformate, a hydrogen-enriched reformate, and mixtures thereof. The apparatus can include means for regulating power to the compression unit that can incrementally increase power to the compression unit particularly during start up. The purification unit can include one or more of a hydrogen selective membrane and a pressure swing adsorption unit. Methods for producing hydrogen are also disclosed.
