Patent number: 11989026Abstract: An autonomous mobile device (AMD) may perform tasks within a physical space. The AMD may move over ramps, bumps, or navigate around obstacles. The AMD may have an inertial measurement unit (IMU) and distance sensors. The IMU provides tilt information indicative of the AMD being on a flat surface or a ramp. The distance sensors provide information on distances between the AMD and surrounding obstacles. Using IMU measurements, the AMD determines a first speed limit that is safe given the tilt of the AMD. Using the distance sensors, the AMD determines a second speed limit that is safe given a distance to an obstacle. The AMD determines a maximum speed based on the first and second speed limits. Based on the maximum speed, the AMD determines whether to adjust a current speed and by how much.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 2021Date of Patent: May 21, 2024Assignee: AMAZON TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Chen Wang, Lei Zhu, Miro Yakov Shverdin, Yue Hu, Isabella Talley Lewis, Bruce Robert Woodley, Daimian Wang

Patent number: 11513926Abstract: Technologies including computer implemented methods and systems are described herein for providing instantiation of virtual machines from backups. Systems and methods disclosed herein do not require restoring the complete contents of a virtual machine from a backup prior to using the virtual machine. Systems and methods presented herein allow creating and running a virtual machine directly from a virtual machine backup. Virtual machines created and maintained by the virtual machine instantiation system may be, in turn, used for backup consistency testing, disaster recovery testing, or granular item-level restore.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 2021Date of Patent: November 29, 2022Assignee: Nakivo, Inc.Inventors: Bruce Talley, Oleksii Serhiovych Osypov, Nail Ahmad Amin Abdallah, Veniamin Serhiovych Simonov, Serhiy Serdyuk

Publication number: 20220215110Abstract: A system for providing a multi-tenant data protection application includes a server shared by all tenants for access to the provided multi-tenant data protection application. The system further includes business logic for managing tenants of the multi-tenant data protection application, tenant resource allocation and isolation of tenant operating environments. The system additionally includes a database server for creating, managing and maintaining databases, including a master database used to store configuration and monitoring data which is used for tenant management and monitoring, and a plurality of private tenant databases, each used to store tenant-specific configuration, tenant-specific data and associated tenant resources. The system includes one or more data protection engines configured to store a copy of protected data at tenant redundant data stores.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 18, 2021Publication date: July 7, 2022Inventors: Bruce TALLEY, Veniamin Serhiovych SIMONOV, Nail Ahmad Amin ABDALLA, Oleksii Serhiovych OSYPOV, Serhiy Mykolayovych SERDYUK

Patent number: 10339010Abstract: A method involves synchronization of one or more secondary backup copies with a primary backup copy. The synchronization does not require additional reading of the original data, as the primary backup copy serves as a source of data. The synchronization process identifies difference between the primary backup copy and the secondary backup copy, so that only differential data is transferred and stored during the synchronization, eliminating the need to repeatedly transfer an entire copy to a secondary location. The method can leverage data compression and de-duplication for more efficient resource utilization.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 2015Date of Patent: July 2, 2019Inventors: Bruce Talley, Nail Ahmad Amin Abdallah, Oleksii Serhiovych Osypov, Veniamin Serhiovych Simonov, Sergii Iazvinskyi
