  • Publication number: 20240157736
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments of permanent active sensors in a tire achieved by partially embedding a sensor component in a green tire and adding a removable power source after the tire is cured. The printed circuit board can be encapsulated in the rubber of the tire with a power source housing connected to the electronics through the rubber. In another aspect, the printed circuit board can be directly connected to the power source housing. The sensor interlocks with the rubber of the tire. Various structural features of the sensor, such as a flange or channels for the rubber, can be used to secure the sensor in the rubber of the tire.

  • Patent number: 10653374
Abstract: A portable positron emission tomography (PET) scanner includes a rotatable scan detector ring which can be rotated 90 degrees for imaging a patient in a vertical or horizontal orientation. In the vertical orientation, a patient can be standing or seating such that the aperture of the scan detector ring is raised to allow the patient to be within the scanning region and lower to perform the image scanning on the patient. In the horizontal orientation, a patient must be lying down on a platform whereby the platform is moved within the aperture of the scan detector ring to perform the image scanning on the patient. In this horizontal orientation, the scan detector ring is also stowed and secured to be moved to other scanning locations.

  • Patent number: 8880605
Abstract: A browser based web conferencing method is disclosed, the method comprising transmitting browser code to a browser of an attendee computer connected to a network. The browser code comprises code segments for receiving image size information from a server, wherein the image size information identifies a size of a presenter display area of a presenter computer. An image is received from the presenter computer through the server, a size of an attendee display area of the attendee computer is determined, and the image is scaled to generate a scaled image that fits in the attendee display area.

  • Patent number: 8555889
Abstract: A protective pillow for post-surgical use has a pliable yet firm inner incision pad and a stiff outer board. The outer board has handles on one side and is attached on the other side to the incision pad by use of hook-and-pile fasteners. The incision pad is soft yet pliable. The pad has one side with a cushioned surface. The cushioned surface has a long groove cut out from the inner part of the pad. The other side of the pad is attached to the outer board by hook-and-pile fasteners. The fasteners allow the post-surgical patient to orient the incision groove in any direction desirable so as to align the groove with the actual incision. The handles on the outer board always remain essentially horizontal while the incision pad is oriented in the same direction as the incision. The pad and board may be removed for easy cleaning or replacement.

  • Patent number: 8447264
Abstract: A system and method for using location data from actual 911 cell phone calls, to determine the coverage areas (orientation and range) of any sector (antenna) in a cell phone system. This coverage area is typically described as the area enclosed by a circular sector with the antenna at the center of the circle. The physical locations of the actually received 911 cell phone calls are determined with respect to the physical location of the antenna. These locations are typically defined in terms of latitude and longitude. A percentage of locations of the origins of the cell phone calls that is desired to be captured by the area enclosed by the circular sector are determined. Two variables are used to adjust the capture of the desired number of calls—the length of the arc (expressed in terms of the percentage of phone calls enclosed by a given length) and the radius of the circle (range of the antenna) (again expressed in terms of the percentage of calls enclosed by the resulting area).

  • Patent number: 8301109
Abstract: A system and method for determining the historical density of 911 calls from wireless devices. This determination is made over a certain geographical area for a statistically significant amount of time. Once the historical density of these wireless 911 calls has been determined, further determining the most efficient routing of future 911 calls in order to improve the delivery of the wireless 911 call to the responding emergency service provider. The system and the method further provides a method for use by public safety officials, communication providers and other governmental or private entities to manage and control approval and actual changes to the routing of wireless 911 calls.
