  • Publication number: 20170216009
Abstract: Absorbable implants for breast surgery that conform to the breast parenchyma and surrounding chest wall have been developed. These implants support newly lifted breast parenchyma, and/or a breast implant. The implants have mechanical properties sufficient to support a reconstructed breast, and allow the in-growth of tissue into the implant as it degrades. The implants have a strength retention profile allowing the support of the breast to be transitioned from the implant to regenerated host tissue, without significant loss of support. Three-dimensional implants for use in minimally invasive mastopexy/breast reconstruction procedures are also described, that confer shape to a patient's breast. These implants are self-reinforced, can be temporarily deformed, implanted in a suitably dissected tissue plane, and resume their preformed three-dimensional shape. The implants are preferably made from poly-4-hydroxybutyrate (P4HB) and copolymers thereof.

Abstract: Absorbable implants for breast surgery that conform to the breast parenchyma and surrounding chest wall have been developed. These implants support newly lifted breast parenchyma, and/or a breast implant. The implants have mechanical properties sufficient to support a reconstructed breast, and allow the ingrowth of tissue into the implant as it degrades. • Publication number: 20170105724
Abstract: Implantable fasteners that can be repositioned after implantation, and implants including these repositionable implantable fasteners, have been developed. The fasteners are designed to fixate medical devices and other implantable components in the body, and can be adjusted after initial fixation in tissue to reposition the implanted medical device. The fasteners include a plurality of tissue retainers emanating from a supportive backing, wherein the tissue retainers can swivel from the plane of the supportive backing to engage tissue. The fasteners are fixated in tissue by movement in a first direction, and can be removed when pulled in a direction opposite to the first direction. The fasteners may be attached to medical devices before or after implantation. In one embodiment, the implant is a mastopexy device in the form of a mesh and the repositionable fastener.

  • Patent number: 4096567
Abstract: An information storage facility with multiple level processors for relieving one or more external host computers or intelligent terminals from conventional time consuming record searching functions, such as record formatting, indexing, buffering and the like. Three processor levels are provided: a communications level for handling external communications, a DBMS level for performing syntax scanning, hashing and coding/decoding routines, and data access functions e.g. indexing, searching, buffering, blocking, deblocking, storage management, and error recovery functions; and a storage level for performing data storage and retrieval, error recovery and storage device management.A direct memory access bus is also provided which enables high speed data transfer among the several processors included within the storage facility and also external host computers or intelligent terminals.
