  • Publication number: 20100007367
Abstract: A heater for heating packaged die for burn-in and heat testing is described. The heater may be a ceramic-type heater with a metal filament. The heater may be incorporated into the integrated circuit package as an additional ceramic layer of the package, or may be an external heater placed in contact with the package to heat the die. Many different types of integrated circuit packages may be accommodated. The method provides increased energy efficiency for heating the die while reducing temperature stresses on testing equipment. The method allows the use of multiple heaters to heat die to different temperatures. Faulty die may be heated to weaken die attach material to facilitate removal of the die. The heater filament or a separate temperature thermistor located in the package may be used to accurately measure die temperature.

  • Publication number: 20080134850
Abstract: A machine and process are provided for forming small, random sized potato pieces suitable for use in preparing potato hash browns and potato patties and the like. Blanched potatoes are chilled and then swept against a blunt edge resulting in shattering of each potato into relatively small, random-sized pieces. If desired, each blunt shatter-edge can be provided in a knife unit including one or more cross-cut knives to subdivide larger shattered pieces into a smaller size. The produced potato pieces are chilled as by freezing or by chilling to a refrigerated temperature for shipment and/or storage pending finish preparation.

  • Publication number: 20080015139
Abstract: Compositions and methods for diagnosing a viral infection and methods of inhibiting such an infection are described. The methods are based on the identification of T-cell receptor gene sequences from cytotoxic T cell clones that are specific for HIV-1 or HCV. Soluble T-cell receptor compositions that bind to HLA class I-restricted of HIV and HCV pathogens were identified and constructed.

  • Publication number: 20070193429
Abstract: A knife blade in a fixture is provided for cutting vegetable products particularly such as potatoes, wherein the knife fixture includes a grid of knife blades adapted for producing product strips defined by rough-textured cut surfaces. Each knife blade includes a sharp cutting edge for smooth-surface cutting of products propelled hydraulically through the knife fixture. Each knife blade further includes opposed side faces each incorporating an array of shallow channels having an upstream end positioned rearwardly from the associated cutting edge and extending generally in the direction of product travel. These shallow channels disrupt and roughen the cut product surfaces to produce rough-textured cut surfaces. In French fry potato strips, this roughened surface texture results in enhanced surface crispness after frying, or alternately enhances batter pick-up and/or crispness characteristics in a batter-coated French fry product. Enhanced finished product hold time is also achieved.

  • Publication number: 20070130264
Abstract: An email system comprises a plurality of email servers connected by a data communications network. The email system avoids single points of failure by employing multiple email servers which self configure, without requiring dedicated servers, through self addressing and discovery and announcement protocols. An email server can act as a primary email server by executing an administration tool allowing an administrator to modify the configuration data set which the email servers utilize, and the primary email server will then announce the resulting change in the version level of the configuration data set to other email servers. Each email server will then determine and request any needed updates to its respective configuration data set from the primary email server or another email server.

  • Publication number: 20070061062
Abstract: A method and system to optimize values of a plurality of calibration discharge coefficients useable in a computer program operable to estimate mass air flow into an internal combustion engine having an air intake system comprising a throttle body and a plurality of sensors is presented. This includes collecting engine operation data points, including throttle position. Discharge coefficients are calculated, one for each engine operation data point. The discharge coefficients are partitioned based upon throttle position. Calibration discharge coefficients are calculated for each partitioned plurality of discharge coefficients. This includes circumscribing each calibration discharge coefficient based upon predetermined thresholds. This further includes monitoring and collecting input signals correlatable to airflow from the sensors during ongoing engine operation, preferably comprising throttle position, manifold pressure, intake air temperature, and, atmospheric pressure.

  • Publication number: 20030008032
Abstract: A multilane extruder system is provided for forming a pliable mass such as a food dough into a plurality of substantially identical elongated extruded strips, and for depositing these strips onto a conveyor for further processing such as cutting into individual strips of selected length. The extruder system comprises an extruder manifold defining a plurality of flow channels having a substantially identical cross sectional size, shape, and length. Each flow channel includes a first segment extending radially outwardly from a central plenum chamber, and connecting with a second segment extending generally radially inwardly and terminating in an extrusion die port of selected shape. The second channel segments are oriented each at a selected individual angle relative to the radial direction for delivering the extruded strips onto the underlying conveyor in a substantially uniformly and closely spaced relation.

  • Patent number: 6280507
Abstract: An air manager for the containment of hazardous fumes over a liquid chemical tank in exhausted equipment and systems in a clean room. A powered, filtered airflow source forces filtered air through a plenum coextensive with a transverse dimension of the chemical tank, in a sheet-like airflow stream over the liquid surface. The airflow is captured at the opposite side of the liquid chemical tank and directed to a powered exhaust. The air manager works cooperatively with the clean room laminar airflow, dramatically increasing the efficiency of the local exhaust. Critical Capture Velocity over the entire surface of the tank is maintained, assuring complete containment of chemical fumes. Optional airflow guides positioned along the sides of the chemical tank may be employed to confine the air stream to the area over the liquid surface.

  • Patent number: 4111668
Abstract: A fused abrasive grain, useful for inclusion in coated abrasives and bonded abrasives, consists essentially of alumina; titanium oxide containing from about 0.42 to about 0.84% titanium, by weight of the abrasive grain, present as a reduced titanium oxide having an average oxidation state lower than in Ti.sub.2 O.sub.3 ; from about 0.05 to about 0.3% by weight carbon; from about 0.02 to about 0.1% by weight Na.sub.2 O; and from 0 to about 0.1% by weight total of calcium and silicon oxides. The grain before roasting has a gain on ignition of from about 0.4 to about 0.7% by weight, and is produced in an electric furnace by fusing high-purity titania, alumina containing Na.sub.2 O as the only significant oxide impurity, and carbon, followed by crushing and roasting the fused grain.
