  • Publication number: 20120046203
Abstract: The invention provides analyzers that improve tests for detecting specific cellular, viral, and molecular targets in clinical, industrial, or environmental samples. The invention permits efficient and specific selection and sensitive imaging detection of individual microscopic targets at low magnification. Automated embodiments allow efficient walk-away, on-demand, random-access high-throughput testing. The analyzers perform tests without requiring wash steps thus streamlining engineering and lowering costs. Thus, the invention provides analyzers that can deliver rapid, accurate, and quantitative, easy-to-use, and cost-effective tests for analytes.

  • Patent number: 7881297
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product for providing communications including an extended protocol header is presented. A message is provided in a communication protocol, the message having a header. An extension is included in the header, the extension including additional information. The message is transmitted to a recipient, wherein the recipient is capable of utilizing the additional information contained in the extension to the header to provide additional functionality.

  • Patent number: 7257090
Abstract: A teleconferencing system (1) comprises multiple teleconferencing bridges (5, 6, 7) each having an associated database (8, 9, 10). A server (20) hosts a local engine (22) associated with each bridge, and a multi-site engine (21). For a “global” conference utilising the resources of at least one other system (2), the multi-site engine (21) communicates over TCP/IP (36) with an equivalent multi-site engine of the other system to set up a link line via PSTN (31) between the bridges (5, 6, 7, 41). During the conference, the multi-site engine (21) automatically transmits event-driven updates to the remote system, and likewise receives such updates from the other system.

  • Publication number: 20070041548
Abstract: A server or servers and a method of operating a server or servers to establish a conference call includes determining parties to be joined into a conference call, notifying the parties about the conference call, authenticating parties that responded to the notification about the conference call, and bridging the parties that have been successfully authenticated into the conference call.

  • Publication number: 20050072717
Abstract: A sieve (10) has abase (3), a sieve screen frame (4) and a sieve screen (12) mounted in the frame so as to be substantially horizontal. A first vibrator (1) vibrates the frame relative to the base in a generally horizontal direction at a first frequency less than 400 Hz. A second vibrator (2) has a vibration transmission member (6) attached directly to the sieve screen and an excitation source which activates the vibration transmission member to vibrate the sieve screen (12) relative to the frame (14) in substantially vertical direction at a second frequency less than 400 Hz. The resulting activity of the screen reduces blinding in use.

  • Patent number: 5864471
Abstract: A full-bridge converter circuit which implements an energy recovery circuit. The energy recovery circuit provides clamping of an output diode reverse voltage to a primary bank voltage of an inverter and is further configured to re-circulate excess absorbed energy to the inverter circuit.

  • Patent number: 5180962
Abstract: An apparatus including a circuit which causes the float voltage of one or more battery chargers to change so as to compensate for changes in the ambient temperature of the batteries connected to the chargers. The circuit does not regulate the charge voltage to the battery but rather provides a battery temperature dependent variable voltage drop in the sense load of the charger(s). The circuit includes a thermistor which is used to sense the temperature of the battery. The temperature dependent resistance of the thermistor is used in a resistive divider for a reference voltage. Selection of the values for the divider components allows the battery temperature dependent variable reference voltage to be a linear approximation of the temperature compensation curve of the battery.
