    Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of urethane modified polyisocyanate preparations having an isocyanate content of 5 to 32% by weight by the reaction of(a) polyisocyanates of the diphenylmethane series or polyisocyanate mixtures of the diphenylmethane series with(b) organic polyhydroxyl compoundsusing an NCO/OH equivalent ratio of from 2.5:1 to 50:1, characterized in that the organic polyhydroxyl compound (b) used are:(b1) urazoles or isocyanurates having OH numbers in the range of from 168 to 721 containing 2 or 3 alcoholic hydroxyl groups and carrying hydroxyalkyl substituents, optionally with ether bridges, on the nitrogen, or mixtures thereof, or(b2) mixtures of the polyhydroxyl compound mentioned under b1) with up to 50 hydroxy equivalents percent of other organic polyhydroxyl compounds.
