  • Publication number: 20230230689
Abstract: A system, computer program product and method for facilitating concurrent monitoring of multiple obstetrics patients over a data network are proposed. Data conveying pregnancy progression information, including maternal and fetal vital sign information associated with the obstetrics patients, is received and processed to derive criticality levels for the obstetrics patients. As a first feature, notification data related to a particular obstetrics patient may be selectively transmitted to a medical expert based on different conditions including for example an associated criticality level exceeding a threshold and/or receipt of a consultation request. As a second feature, used together or separately from the first, a graphical user interface (GUI) may present a user with an ordered list of obstetrics patients dynamically adaptable based on the criticality levels.

  • Patent number: 6423016
Abstract: An apparatus for tracking the labor progress of a patient during childbirth. Clinical measurements associated with a patient are received including a measurement of a previous dilatation of the cervix, a contraction count, a previous level of descent of the child, a previous effacement measurement of the cervix, an epidural status, and a parity status. The clinical measurements are processed to generate an expected future dilatation of the cervix by taking a linear combination of the clinical measurements. The expected dilatation of the cervix can then be used to assist a physician in determining whether a cesarean delivery is appropriate. A system for tracking labor progress is provided including a broker unit, a labor progress unit, and an information-gathering unit. The broker unit coordinates the communications in the system by receiving messages and forwarding messages to the components of the system as well as by providing publish/subscribe capabilities.
