  • Patent number: 6013276
Abstract: A novel transdermal matrix system for the percutaneous delivery of a hormone, including a carrier and an adhesive matrix, is disclosed. The matrix includes (a) 39-61 parts by weight of an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer, (b) 12-17 parts by weight of 2-octyldodecyl myristate, (c) 5-17 parts by weight of diethyl phthalate, (d) 10-16 parts by weight of a compound selected from N-alkyl-2-pyrrolidones, wherein the alkyl group is a C.sub.4-15 group, and (e) 1-12 parts by weight of at least one hormone selected from the group consisting of oestrogenic and progestogenic components. A method for preparing said transdermal matrix system and the therapeutical use of said system are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5919477
Abstract: A novel system for percutaneously delivering at least two active principles, consisting of at least two juxtaposed devices. The system includes (i) a first device containing a mixture of all the active principles in which at least one first active principle (A) is present in an amount enabling the effective therapeutic dose to be delivered, and at least one second active principle (B) is present in an amount smaller than the amount needed to deliver the effective therapeutic dose; and (ii) one or more additional devices each containing a single active principle (B) selected from those in the first device and provided in an amount smaller than the amount needed to deliver the effective therapeutic dose, said additional device(s) being designed to top up the amount of each of the active principles (B) in the system until the effective therapeutic dose is achieved.

  • Patent number: 5499967
Abstract: The device comprises a switched-mode power supply (1) equipped with an electronic switching member (T.sub.1), the closing of which controls the power supply to an inductor (L.sub.1) which discharges, when the member reopens, into a capacitor (C.sub.1) at the terminals of which the output voltage of the device appears, characterized in that it comprises (a) storage means for recording a sequence of image numbers of successive segments of the predetermined waveform, (b) a clocked digital counter (2) and (c) means (3) for successively loading this counter (2) with each of the numbers of this sequence considered as a bound of the count performed by the counter (2), the latter cyclically controlling the closing of the switching member (T.sub.1) for a predetermined time interval, each time the count performed reaches the limit thus fixed.

  • Patent number: 4837025
Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel self-adhesive matrix for the percutaneous administration of a pharmaceutical active ingredient. This matrix comprises a combination of the following:(a) 30 to 50 parts by weight of an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer material,(b) 20 to 45 parts by weight of a higher aliphatic monoalcohol compound,(c) 5 to 20 parts by weight of a cellulose derivative material,(d) 1 to 20 parts by weight of an ester compound of a polyhydric alcohol with a fatty aliphatic acid, and(e) 0.1 to 20 parts by weight of an active ingredient which can be administered percutaneously.
