  • Publication number: 20250010980
Abstract: There is provided an improved weight-shift control flexible wing aircraft and improved systems and methods for recovering or preventing a spiral dive or a stall of a weight-shift control flexible wing aircraft. The aircraft including a frame; a wing assembly defining a flexible sail extending from port to starboard sides of the vehicle, the flexible wing assembly comprising: a wing keel extending from fore to aft ends of the wing assembly; a pair of wings, wherein each side of said pair of wings has a strut coupled to and extending away from the wing keel and defines a leading edge and a trailing edge when the wing assembly is moved though air, wherein the trailing edge of each side of said pair of wings is configured for actuable reversible billowing in at least a portion along a length of the trialing edge.

  • Patent number: 11635772
Abstract: Disclosed is an aircraft and a method of controlling an aircraft. The aircraft comprises a continuous wing assembly extending from port to starboard sides of the aircraft. The aircraft is controlled partially by flexing portions of the wing, and partially or totally by mechanical systems that alter the position of a fuselage with respect to the wing. The fuselage is attached to the wing by a wing/fuselage joint structure that permits at least two mutually orthogonal axes of rotation of the fuselage relative to the wing. The aircraft includes a sensors, a telemetry system linked to a remote server, and a control system for programming flight information and aircraft control instructions and a plurality of actuators responsive to the control system for rotating the fuselage relative to the wing and flexing the wing for controlling the flight of the aircraft in response to instructions from the control system.

  • Patent number: 5633774
Abstract: An overload relay, and an overload relay control circuit power source are disclosed herein. The overload relay includes an electronic trip circuit, a contactor such as a three-phase contactor, a current transformer associated with each power conductor coupled to the contactor, and a transformer associated with the contactor. The current transformers are coupled to the control circuit which controls the supply of power to the solenoid of the contactor based upon the level of current flowing in the power conductors connected to the contactor. The solenoid of the contactor is connected to at least one power conductor and maintains the contacts closed when the solenoid is energized. The transformer is magnetically coupled to the windings of the solenoid and produces the power required by the control circuit when the solenoid is energized and the contacts of the contactor are closed.

  • Patent number: 5570262
Abstract: An overload relay including a thermal actuator heated by a control circuit is disclosed herein. The overload relay includes a contactor having a pair of contacts for interrupting the application of power from one or more power conductors to a load such as a motor. The relay also includes current transformers associated with each power conductor configured to produce signals representative of the electrical current in the power conductor. The control circuit is coupled to the current transformers and monitors the current signals when the contacts of the contactor are closed. In response to the current signals exceeding predetermined limits, the control circuit applies a heating current to the thermal actuator. In response to the heating current, the thermal actuator opens a switch which controls the application of power to the solenoid of the contactor.

  • Patent number: 5455549
Abstract: An overload relay with a multi-function control button is disclosed herein. The overload relay includes a contactor having a solenoid which holds the contacts of the contactor closed when energized. Power to the solenoid is provided by the power conductors connected to the contacts of the contactor. The power provided to the solenoid is controlled by a switch which is operated with the multi-function button. The multi-function button includes a slidable member and an indicator member movably contained within the slidable member. The indicator member is mechanically connected with the contacts of the switch which control the application of power to the solenoid. When these contacts are disengaged, the indicator member has a portion which extends beyond the tubular member to produce a visual indication that the supply of power to the contactor solenoid has terminated and the contacts of the contactor are open.

  • Patent number: 5410240
Abstract: In the open-loop control of A.C. power controllers through the phase-angle control of semiconductor valves (4), the chronological sequence of the firing signals (Z) for the semiconductor valves (4) is determined by reference signals (X). When the reference signals (X) fail for one or more periods, this chronological sequence is disturbed and damage to the load (2) to be controlled can result. Therefore, according to the invention, a method is provided whereby a safety firing signal (ZS) is always derived from the preceding firing signals (Z) when the expected reference signal (X) fails. In addition, a device for implementing the method is specified.
