  • Patent number: 11971402
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and kits for prognosing, treating, and managing treatment of cancer in a subject. The methods involve selecting a subject having cancer and obtaining, from the selected subject, a sample containing exosomes or an S100 molecule containing sample. The exosomes or S100 molecule containing sample, respectively, are then contacted with one or more reagents suitable to detect higher or lower levels or the presence or absence of one or more integrins on said exosomes or higher or lower levels or the presence or absence of one or more S100 molecules in the S100 molecule containing sample. The cancer is then prognosed, treatment is administered, or treatment is managed.

  • Patent number: 8457575
Abstract: A system and method for presenting content related to a radio broadcast are provided. The system may include a radio device having a receiver configured to receive a radio signal including an audio component and digitally encoded data associated with the audio component. The radio device may further include a decoder configured to decode the digitally encoded data from the radio signal. The radio device may further include a processor configured to receive the digitally encoded data from the decoder, extract a data parameter from the digitally encoded data, send a search query including the data parameter to a content service, and receive from the content service metadata associated with the data parameter. The system may further include a display configured to display the metadata received from the content service.

  • Publication number: 20120210321
Abstract: The subject disclosure is directed towards a technology in which a mobile device maintains an application in a dormant state in which the application's process is not terminated and remains in memory, but the application cannot execute code. Further, state and execution context are maintained for the application, allowing the application to be quickly and efficiently resumed into the running state. To prevent the application from executing code while dormant, thread activity is suspended, requests canceled, completed or paused, resources detached, and so forth. Resource usage may be monitored for dormant applications, to remove a misbehaving dormant application process from memory if improperly using resources.

  • Publication number: 20080028400
Abstract: A virtualization solution provides a streamlined end-to-end user experience through the integration of the host user interface and the guest user interface, hiding the complexities and incongruities of the underlying virtualization engine. The guest environment is controlled by a graphical user interface of the host system via an initialization menu, which is renderable via the graphical user interface of the host system. Applications of the guest environment can be launched via the initialization menu. Various embodiments are disclosed. For example, pushing a power button on the host system initiates a graceful power shutdown of the guest environment; when a disc is inserted into the host system, options are provided via the guest environment, for operating on the disc; the real-time clock of the host system is controlled by the guest environment; the host system is queried for display settings, and the guest environment uses the display setting if compatible.

  • Patent number: 7133052
Abstract: Efficient, real-time rendering of an output image is implemented using one or more input images and morph maps that include data defining characteristics of each pixel in the output image. The input images can include textures and other graphic data for a surface of an object. Any of a number of different known techniques are used to produce the data included in a morph map for rendering a scene. The morph map is implemented for a rectangular area M (x, y) and associates a set of Mj(x, y) data with each pixel position in the rectangular area, where j is a positive integer providing an index to one of the sets of pixel data associated with a pixel position. A set of up to seven parameters are included in the Mj(x, y) data for each pixel position. Using the morph map, a real-time rendering engine performs a transformation when the displayed scene must be modified in response to a user interaction or in response to some software program event.
