Abstract: An optical zoom including a movable pupil that moves according to a movement law, comprises four successive groups of lenses, the first group and the fourth group being fixed, the second group and the third group being movable and placed between the first and fourth groups, the second group being a convergent group and the third group being a divergent group. In a first variant, the diameter of the movable pupil varies according to a variation law, depending on the movement law of the movable pupil. In a second variant, the optical zoom includes a movable stop, the movable stop moving according to a second movement law, the diameter of this stop varying according to a second variation law, depending on the second movement law of the movable stop.

Abstract: In the field of wide field or wide angle optical systems, an optical system comprises at least a first optical element and a second adaptive optical element comprising at least one active component, capable of modifying an optical wavefront virtually instantaneously according to a predetermined law, said optical device being designed to produce an image of an illuminated object whose geometric and photometric characteristics are known, the object and the image being at a finite distance or at infinity. The object is decomposed into a plurality of adjacent regions and the active component is arranged in such a manner that, to each region of the object there corresponds at least one predetermined law for modification of the wavefront received by the active component in such a manner that the geometric aberrations of the optical system for said region of the object are minimized.

Abstract: Compact binoculars for nighttime vision with a center of gravity close to the user. The binoculars have an optical architecture with an inclined principle pathway. The principle pathway extends by way of a first eyepiece pathway with a second eyepiece pathway branching in a different direction. The binoculars include a bent entrance objective conjugate with a light intensifier tube forming an image of a scene along a viewing axis. The image is next transmitted on the two eyepiece pathways to two eyepieces by way of an optical splitter. The splitter partially transmits the flux to a first eyepiece pathway inclined with respect to the plane of the eyepieces and on a second eyepiece pathway which has an axis lying in the plane perpendicular to the viewing axis and passing through the axis of the principle pathway.
