  • Patent number: 8272292
Abstract: A control device (1) for providing at least one electrical-electronic command to at least one bicycle component is provided, with a support body (2) carrying at least one switch (46), a respective actuation element (24) and a respective manual actuation member (10), with a transmission mechanism (13, 20) arranged between the manual actuation member (10) and the actuation element (24). Through the provision of the transmission mechanism for transmitting the movement of the manual actuation member (10) to the actuation element (24) of the at least one switch (46), the at least one switch (46) can be displaced in an area (2a) further inside the control device (2), less exposed to the external environment.

  • Patent number: 8035046
Abstract: A control device (1) for a bicycle for providing at least one electrical-electronic command to at least one bicycle component is provided, comprising a support body (2), at least one switch (47, 48), and a respective manual actuation member (34, 35, 70), the switch (47, 48) and the respective manual actuation member (34, 35, 70) are included in a switch unit (30) so as to be integrally removable from the support body (2). By so including said components (47, 48, 34, 35, 70) in a self-standing switch unit (30), in the case of a failure or malfunction of the switch (47, 48), the switch unit (30) can be easily inspected and possibly replaced.

  • Publication number: 20080210044
Abstract: A control device for a bicycle located on a bicycle handlebar and at least one control member of at least one bicycle component, like for example a derailleur and/or a cyclecomputer. The main body has an outer side wall and an inner side wall arranged on the opposite side to the outer side wall with respect to a substantially vertical intermediate reference plane. The control member can be actuated at the inner side wall along at least one thrusting direction that is inclined, with respect to the intermediate reference plane, by at least one predetermined angle different to 90°. Such a control member comprises in particular a button (or alternatively a lever) for actuating a derailleur in a gearshifting direction and a button for controlling a cyclecomputer.

  • Publication number: 20080210045
Abstract: A control device for providing at least one electrical-electronic command to at least one bicycle component is provided, including a support body (2) carrying at least one switch (46, 47), a respective actuation element (24, 25, 39), and a respective manual actuation member (34). By providing for the actuation element (24, 25, 39) to be elastic, the tactile feeling caused by the change of state of the switch (46, 47) is increased in that the actuation element (24, 25, 39) compresses during the initial step of actuation and then, at the moment when the switch (46, 47) changes state, the elastic actuation element (24, 25, 39) decompresses following the mobile part of the switch (46, 47).

  • Publication number: 20080210041
Abstract: A control device for a bicycle has a main body adapted to be associated with a bicycle handlebar and at least one control member of at least one bicycle component, like for example a brake, a derailleur or a cyclecomputer. The main body has a first side wall and a second side wall arranged on the opposite side to the first side wall with respect to an intermediate reference plane. The first side wall has a first portion having a first surface and a second portion having a second surface. The first surface has an area having a distance from the intermediate reference plane greater than the distance between the aforementioned intermediate reference plane and an area of the surface of the second portion.

  • Publication number: 20080098848
Abstract: A control device for bicycles has a main body for attachment to a bicycle handlebar and at least one actuation arm for controlling a brake and/or a derailleur of the bicycle. The at least one actuation arm has a first portion having a finger actuation area and a second portion for controlling the brake and/or the derailleur, said first portion and said second portion being distinct bodies fixable to each other. The first portion can therefore be replaced without disassembling the control device, with an identical one when it breaks, wears down or is damaged, or else with a different one in terms of the constituent material, color or similar, to satisfy the different preferences of the cyclist, or even different in shape and/or size, in particular in curvature and/or length, so that the control device is adaptable to cyclists with hands that depart from average size. To this purpose, a same first portion can also be fixable in at least two different positions with respect to the second portion.
