  • Patent number: 9178347
Abstract: An arm for supporting a monitor comprises a telescoping arm assembly, a support member and a cord storage device. The telescoping arm assembly has at least first and second telescoping members telescopingly movable relative to each other, a distal end configured to support a monitor and a hollow interior through which at least one cord from the monitor can be routed. The support member is connected to the telescoping arm assembly proximally of the distal end to suspend the telescoping arm assembly. The support member is configured to extend transverse to the telescoping arm assembly and to be attached to a support surface. The cord storage device is positioned at least partially within at least one of the telescoping arm assembly or the support member. The cord storage device winds and unwinds the cord from the monitor as the first and second telescoping members are moved toward and away from each other, respectively.
