Abstract: The production of an oxygen-absorbent composition is provided, having: (a) a porous silica encapsulation matrix; and (b) a composition containing an oxygen-absorbent compound selected from fatty acids, unsaturated esters or compounds containing same, and, optionally, a catalyst based on an inorganic salt of a transition metal, wherein the composition (b) is encapsulated in the porous silica matrix (a). The composition can form part of the structure of the packaging for oxidation sensitive products or be placed in the surrounding atmosphere to reduce the concentration of oxygen. A method for encapsulating the active compound or the active compound together with a catalyst, and subsequently incorporating same into polymer matrices is also provided.

Abstract: Deck and drum for a tape playback and/or recorder machines in which the assembly of deck and drum is made by way of lugs 19 of the drum cooperating with catch 14 of the deck. With such an arrangement the assembly of the deck and drum can be easily automated the drum being assembled by translation and then relative rotation of the deck and drum.

Abstract: A drum assembly for a magnetic tape reading and writing system, comprises: a static drum; a rotary spindle coaxial with the static drum and connected to a drive motor; a rotary drum mounted on the spindle; at least one pair of read heads for video and a pair of read heads for audio, each of the read heads rigidly attached to the rotary drum; a first rotary transformer mounted inside the rotary drum, on the rotary spindle, and connected to one of the pairs of read heads; and, a second rotary transformer mounted outside the rotary drum, on the rotary spindle, and connected to the other one of the pairs of read heads.
