  • Publication number: 20110159122
Abstract: The present invention relates to combinations of extracts of various plants. A plant extract is obtained from unfermented rooibos by extraction with a mixture of water and alcohol. The rooibos extract contains a compound of formula I (aspacat). The compound of formula I is shown below: The extracts of other plants are obtained from fermented rooibos and/or green tea and/or curcuma and/or ginseng. The combinations can be used as drugs and/or food supplements for the prevention and/or treatment of dementia disorders.

  • Publication number: 20100222423
Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel chemical compound of the formula I and to the pharmaceutically acceptable salts, derivatives and esters thereof. In addition, the invention also relates to a process for isolating the compound according to formula I from raw rooibos material. The present invention likewise relates to a rooibos extract which has a content of the compound according to formula I of at least 0.4% by weight. The invention furthermore relates to the use of the chemical compound of the formula I and of the pharmaceutically acceptable salts, derivatives and esters thereof and of the rooibos extract according to the invention as a medicament, in particular for treating neurological and psychiatric disorders of the central nervous system. The expression “pharmaceutically active” also includes those effects which lead to a subjective improvement in the mental state, in which case approval under pharmaceutical legislation need not be absolutely necessary.

  • Patent number: 5235490
Abstract: A trigger circuit for an electromagnetic device, in particular a solenoid valve of an injection system for an internal-combustion engine, has a control element for causing excitation of the electromagnetic device to be lowered at least once and then raised after the electromagnetic device is activated. The control element has a delay circuit which slows down the rate at which excitation of the electromagnetic device changes during the lowering and/or raising action.

  • Patent number: 5052730
Abstract: A closure locking device for the opening of a self-service device, in particular an automatic teller machine includes a locking flap, the outside of which is indented. The locking flap, pivotable about an axis, is positioned behind a projecting upper wall panel and in front of a recessed wall panel. A gap is created when the locking flap is pivoted, and as the flap opens the width of the gap increases, so that any ice formed is broken up or jammed objects are released. A self-locking latch and actuator for the locking flap uses an actuating lever which is pivotable about an axis. The actuating lever includes a shaped guide slot which is engaged by the actuator. In a first part of the guide slot, no displacement work is performed by the actuator, whereas in a second part, which is positioned at an angle to the first part, displacement work is performed to move the lever and locking flap.

Abstract: A closure locking means for the opening of a self-service device, in particular an automatic teller machine includes a locking flap, the outside of which is indented. • Patent number: 4501248
Abstract: An apparatus for ascertaining open- and closed-loop control variables of an internal combustion engine, in particular a Diesel engine, on the basis of individual operating characteristics. The individual open- and closed-loop control variables are each ascertained in an individually computer-controlled manner immediately prior to their being needed. This manner of determining the individual values is particularly amenable to realization in large Diesel engines which operate relatively slowly, but it is applicable in principle to all types of internal combustion engines. The proposed apparatus includes an rpm regulator having a subsequent minimum-value selection circuit and calculation circuits for the onset and the duration of injection. Cylinder selection circuits for controlling the rotary direction are also provided. They determine both the particular metering valve being used and the corresponding starting-air valves for controlling the starting process.
