  • Patent number: 11952901
Abstract: A turbomachine sealing ring has an axis of revolution and includes an annular support, an annular coating made of abradable material which is carried by the support, and an annular thermal protection plate which is carried by the support. The ring is divided into sectors and has a plurality of ring sectors disposed circumferentially next to one another about the axis. Each ring sector has a support sector, a coating sector, and a plate sector. Each plate sector ling includes a flat tab that is pressed against a face of the corresponding support sector and is fixed to this face by brazing. The tab is inserted into a through-slot in the support sector in order to improve its integrity in operation.

  • Patent number: 7841016
Abstract: The invention is directed to a spin-polarized electron injector using a semiconductor tip, in which tip the injected electrons are photocreated by a circularly polarized light excitation incident on the rear of the tip. This tip is supported by a transparent lever or cantilever and undergoes a surface treatment for the purpose of removing the surface oxide layer, to prevent said layer from reforming and to improve the proportion of injected electrons.

  • Publication number: 20090319198
Abstract: A method for identifying the failure risks of a confinement building, in particular a confinement building made of concrete for stocking or storing a product, includes the following steps: from data concerning the building and/or the product, determining a planned theoretical behaviour of the building during the filling phase of the building with the product to be stored; determining a real behaviour of the building during the filling phase of the building with the product; and determining the failure risks by comparing the theoretical and real behaviours. The method of the invention can also be applied to an emptying phase of the confinement building.

  • Patent number: 7561976
Abstract: A method and system for monitoring the performance of a pipe containing a pressurised fluid. The pipe is made up of at least one current zone and singular zones. A predetermined number of singular zones are monitored, in order to obtain circumferential expansion information; and the calculation of the effective stiffness of the pipe and of the measured residual steel section of the pipe, using this circumferential expansion information. The pipe is dynamically monitored, in order to obtain information relating to the natural vibration frequencies and modes thereof. The information thus gained indicates whether a maintenance operation need be performed on the pipe.

  • Publication number: 20060217902
Abstract: A method of monitoring the performance of a pipe containing a pressurised fluid, the pipe including at least one current zone and singular zones. The method includes: the static monitoring of a pre-determined number of singular zones, in order to obtain circumferential dilatation information; and the calculation of the effective stiffness k(ti) of the pipe and of the measured residual steel section (As(ti) of same, using the above-mentioned circumferential dilatation information. The method can also include the dynamic monitoring of the pipe, in order to obtain information relating to the natural vibration frequencies and modes thereof.

  • Patent number: 5360754
Abstract: The disclosure relates to the field of monocrystalline thin layers deposited on a substrate having an identical or a different nature, from a vapor phase. On the substrate made of monocrystalline material A, a cavity is built, determined by one face of the substrate and one face of a layer made of a material D in such a way that there can be neither nucleation nor growth on the faces exposed to the vapor phase. The growth is done from a seed made of monocrystalline material B located between two faces of the substrate and of the layer. The seed made of monocrystalline material B may be of a nature different from that of the substrate (for example, substrate=silicon and material B=GaAs) and is made, for example, by MBE or MOCVD. The material C to be made to grow is different from the material B of the seed. The material C is, for example, InP and the growth is done by VPE.

  • Patent number: 5356510
Abstract: A method according to which a layer of a semiconductor material is made on a substrate by growth in a confinement space defined by this substrate and by a confinement layer, this growth being achieved from a seed. The cross-section of the seed, substantially perpendicular to the general direction of growth, possesses a thick central part framed by two thinned lateral parts. The confinement space has the same cross-section as the seed.
