    Abstract: A heat shield is disclosed having first and a second three-dimensionally deformed metal layers which are connected to one another such that an outer edge section of the first metal layer is flanged on the second metal layer around substantially the entire circumference of the outer edge of the second metal layer. The outer edge section is welded regionally in at least one partial area of the second metal layer. A method for producing the heat shield is also disclosed.
