Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a heat shield and to a heat shield manufactured with this method. Heat shields of this type are particularly used in the field of the automobile industry. According to the method according to the invention, an insulating material, performed in a suitable contour and consisting of graphite, for example vermiculite, without binding agent, is inserted as an insulating plate (4) between two flat materials (2, 3), consisting of sheet metal, for example.
