Abstract: Mefloquin hydrochloride in the form of modification E as characterized by IR spectrum and X-ray diffraction pattern, as well as a process for the preparation thereof by treating mefloquin hydrochloride, comprising at least partially another modification, that is, mefloquin hydrochloride which is not pure mefloquin hydrochloride in the form of modification E, with methanol and/or ethanol, in the presence of less than 30 volume/percent of water.

Abstract: A method for obtaining mefloquin hydrochloride, erythro-.alpha.-2-piperidyl-2,8-bis-(trifluoromethyl)-4-quinolinemethanol hydrochloride, from mixtures of erythro-and threo-.alpha.-2-piperidyl-2,8-bis-(trifluoromethyl)-4-quinolinemethanol hydrochloride by treatment with aqueous methanol or ethanol. The thermodynamically most stable form is obtained by treatment with an alcohol/water mixture for a long period of time.

Abstract: A measurement instrument in the form of a plug gage comprises a tubular body within which there is centered an axially movable rod, one end of which is intended to transmit the axial movements of said rod to a transducer system connected to the tubular body, while the other end thereof bears a conical part coaxial with said rod, with the lateral surfaces of the conical part resting against radially movable feeler balls, each of which is housed in a guide channel transverse to the longitudinal axis of the tubular body. The plug gage is characterized in that the tubular body bears over at least a portion of its length a coaxial centering sleeve which is removable and interchangeable, this sleeve being provided with transverse openings intended to permit the passage of the balls.

Abstract: This invention relates to a measuring instrument in which the rectilinear displacement of a feeler rod is transmitted to a geared multiplier mechanism by means of a rotating element such as an arm carrying a toothed sector meshing with a first toothed wheel of the multiplier mechanism, the transmission of movement between the feeler rod and the rotating element being effected by an abutment carried by the feeler rod and in contact with the profile of a cam carried by the rotating element.
