  • Patent number: 8443646
Abstract: An adjustment compensator device for a press brake die includes an elongate engagement member, an elongate die holder, an elongate primary adjustment wedge and at least two elongate secondary adjustment wedges. The elongate primary adjustment wedge is positioned between and extending along at least a portion of the elongate engagement member and the elongated die holder, and at least a portion of primary adjustment wedge is adjustable in a direction transverse to an elongate length of the engagement member. The at least two elongate secondary adjustment wedges have a length wherein each of the secondary adjustment wedges is less than a length of the primary adjustment wedge. The elongate secondary adjustment wedges are positioned end to end in a direction along a length of the die holder and positioned between the engagement member and the die holder. Each of the elongate secondary adjustment wedges is adjustable in a direction transverse to the elongate length of the engagement member.

  • Patent number: 7168286
Abstract: A device (10) for securing a punch tool (6) to a ram portion (8) of a press brake includes an upper portion (12) having opposing front and back outer recesses (14) and (15) extending longitudinally from a first end wall (16) to a second end wall (18), the outer recesses (14) and (15) being configured to snugly receive a corresponding inner wall (20) protuberance (22) of a clamp portion (21) of the ram portion (8) of the press brake as the upper portion (12) is grasped and “squeezed” by the ram portion (8) during operation of the press brake. The device (10) and the punch tool (6) attached thereto, are supported by the protuberance (22). A lower portion (24) of the device (10) includes an inner recess (26) that snugly receives a corresponding upper portion (28) of the punch tool (6).

  • Patent number: 6499330
Abstract: A displacement indicator device 10 for a press brake compensator 16 includes a first recess 20 in a lower wall of a preselected portion or a die holder member 14 of the press brake compensator 16, an indicator rod 18 snugly inserted into the first recess 20, a second recess 34 in a side wall 36 of a preselected portion of a wedge portion 38 of the press brake compensator 16, and a lifting cam 40 snugly inserted into the second recess 34. The indicator rod 18 is displaced by the movement of the preselected portion of the wedge portion 38. The indicator rod 18 displacement corresponds to the vertical displacement of the die holder member 14. An indicating scale 32 discloses the amount of displacement of the preselected portion of the die holder member 14 by aligning a reference mark 28 on the indicator rod 18 with a horizontal line and corresponding number on the indicating scale 32.

  • Patent number: 6494075
Abstract: A device 10 for securing a punch 13 to a press brake 44 includes a first member 12 removably inserted into an aperture 32 in the punch 13, a second member 14 integrally joined to the first member 12, a set screw 18 extending through the first and second members 12 and 14 to ultimately engage a wall 64 of the aperture 32 to maintain the horizontal position of the first and second members 12 and 14 relative to the punch 13, an extension portion 36 of the second member 14 that ultimately engages a cooperating portion 42 of the press brake 44, and a lip portion 46 that horizontally positions the extension portion 36 adjacent to a top wall 26 of the punch 13 thereby promoting accurate engagement with the cooperating portion 42 of the press brake 44.

  • Patent number: 6164114
Abstract: A compensation device (10) for a press brake that provides vertical arcuate adjustment to a die holding an elongated workpiece to be configured by the press brake. The compensation device (10) includes a die holder member (18) that removably receives the die, an elongated wedge (14) having an inclined upper surface (60) that congruently engages an inclined lower surface (82) of the die holder member (18), and a press bed engagement member (12) that supports the wedge (14) and positions the die holder member (18) such that the wedge (14) is capable of lateral movement relative to the die holder member (18) thereby arcuately elevating the combined die holder member (18), die and workpiece by adjusting one wedge deformation bolt (76). The arcuately elevated workpiece prevents incomplete bends or "flat spots" from occurring in a mid-portion of the workpiece due to an overloaded or relatively "long" press bed in the press brake.
