  • Publication number: 20220365823
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method and apparatus including setting a memory swap size limit, the limit being lower than a memory swap size defining a maximum size of a part of said memory resources used for swap, obtaining a score for at least one running program, a high score corresponding to a low priority level, obtaining monitoring information representative of a monitored activity of the program during a time period and of a learnt user's habit of use of the program, including a number of times the program gained the focus within the time period. The disclosure also includes deriving a score delta from information with a decrement value to the score delta at each focus gained by the program, adjusting the score by adding the delta, and terminating execution when memory swap size limit is reached and the adjusted score reaches a memory swap size limit threshold.

  • Publication number: 20180288452
Abstract: A solution for delivery of audiovisual content to a receiver device is provided. At the transmitter side, a transmission buffer is constituted, while offering fast channel change and fast trick modes at the receiver side. At least one GoP, starting with a first I-frame is sought in the content that is to be transmitted. The timing references of the data in the at least one GoP that is prepared for delivery to a receiver device are modified so that the data is decoded by the receiver at a slowed-down rate for a given duration. This creates a lag between reading of data in by the transmitter and decoding of data by the receiver. The lag is used by the transmitter to fill the transmission buffer, while the receiver does not have to wait for the transmission buffer to be filled to start decoding.

  • Publication number: 20170272810
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for updating service information tables in a digital content decoder comprising: a reception (E1) of a service information table, a filtering (E2) the content of the table to remove or reset to zero, in the table, a table identifier and an item of information unnecessary to the execution of at least one service by the decoder, a calculation (E4) of a hash code relating to an item of information, of the filtered table, a comparison (E5) of the hash code with a hash code relating to an item of information of a previous table, a storage (E6) of said item of information of the table if the hash code of the filtered table and the hash code of the previous table are not identical.

  • Patent number: 9640220
Abstract: There are provided respective systems and methods for recording and playing back media content. The system for recording media content includes a segmenter (303) for splitting transport stream data and index data corresponding to the media content into discrete files at periodic intervals on access point boundaries. Each of the discrete files includes a respective transport segment and a respective index segment. The system also includes a segment storage device (304) for storing the discrete files.

  • Patent number: 9641792
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a method for recording data on a recording medium. The invention relates to the implementation of the timeshift function in a part of said recording medium called the timeshift buffer memory having a size defined in terms of recording capacity. For the timeshift buffer memory, a first threshold defines a capacity limit, a second threshold defines a recording time limit. The device records the data in the timeshift buffer memory as long as the second threshold is not reached and when the second threshold is reached before the first threshold, the processor truncates the start of the timeshift buffer memory when the data being read are not located at the start of the buffer memory or moves to reading the data of the timeshift buffer memory when the data being read are located at the start of the timeshift buffer memory.

  • Publication number: 20170024244
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method to be performed in an electronic device, for monitoring the execution of a software program including at least one watched process, the monitoring method including periodic reading, by a supervisor process, of a memory zone shared by the watched process and the supervisor process. According to an embodiment, the method further includes conditional forcing, by the supervisor process, of a booting of a watched process of the software program, the conditional forcing taking into account an update of a first read memory zone between two successive readings and a previous conditional forcing. The disclosure also relates to the corresponding electronic device, communication system, computer readable program product and computer readable storage medium.

  • Publication number: 20170006332
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for restitution of an availability of an item of audiovisual content in a receiver-decoder device, comprising a reception, from a first network of a first item of information representative of an availability of an item of content broadcast by the first network, via the intermediary of the second network, a restitution of a second item of information representative of the availability of the item of content on the second network, the second item of information depending on the first item of information received.

  • Patent number: 8615155
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for receiving audio video data packets and corresponding method. According to said method, said packets received comprising an absolute time stamp showing the display time of said packets, said packets being intended to be displayed after their recording, or to be displayed directly following their reception. The device comprises an interface module with the display intended to respect, among other things, the display time of said packets. The device comprises: means for reformatting said packets intended to be displayed after recording in such a manner that these packets after they have been read are received by the interface module with the display in the same format as said packets intended to be displayed directly following their reception, said means for reformatting said packets modifying at least the time stamp of the packets intended for the recording.
