  • Publication number: 20030098183
Abstract: A sample changer for a balance (1) with a weighing pan (18) has at least two sample carriers (3) that are spaced apart from each other. Each sample carrier is configured to receive at least one weighing-object unit and transport the weighing-object unit to the weighing pan (18). An individual draft-shield element (4) consisting at least in part of a transparent material is arranged above each of the sample carriers (3), closing off a sample space laterally and from above.

  • Patent number: 6443007
Abstract: In a method for measuring density and related properties by weighing a solid body while it is suspended in a fluid, there are significant advantages if the fluid has a) a density that is smaller than the density of water; b) a surface tension that is significantly smaller than the surface tension of water; c) a rate of evaporation that is slower than the evaporation rate of water, due to a vapor pressure that is smaller than the vapor pressure of water-by at least a factor of 2; and d) a water absorption of less than 1%. Preferably, the fluid contains at least one cyclosilane.

  • Patent number: 6420666
Abstract: In a method of weighing a load on a balance (1), the load is passed between three different locations, i.e., a stationary holding location (17), a load-handling device, and a load-receiver portion of the balance. At least one of the locations has vertically stacked load-receiving positions. The load receiving positions are horizontally cantilevered forks or beams on which the weighing loads are either set down or suspended.

  • Patent number: 5787600
Abstract: A dryer mounted in a housing with a balance for determining the moisture content of material to be weighed which is in a dish placed in the balance and is subjected to a heat source. The dish is placed in a dish support device which can be placed in and removed from the dryer together with the dish. The dish can be inserted into the dish support device and removed from the dish support device manually and from the side. An upwardly bent inner edge of a support ring prevents impurities resting on the support ring from unintentionally dropping into the dish.

  • Patent number: 4489800
Abstract: Electromagnetic load compensation weighing apparatus including a temperature correction circuit having a temperature-responsive element mounted in heat sensing relation relative to the permanent magnet, characterized by the further mounting of a component of the compensating current supply circuit in heat-responsive relation relative to the permanent magnet. A Zener diode serving as a reference voltage device in the compensating current supply circuit is preferably the component that is mounted, together with the temperature-responsive element, in heat conducting relation in a common bore contained within the permanent magnet.
