  • Patent number: 10007240
Abstract: Management systems, methods, and mediums are provided. A method includes monitoring a value of a data point associated with a device in an automation system using a set of pairs of event enrollment objects and notification class objects configured to generate and communicate an alarm according to a first protocol. Each of the pairs of objects corresponds to one of a set of offsets defined according to a second protocol. The method also includes writing property values of the pairs of objects for different alarm monitoring modes using a set of command objects. Additionally, the method includes generating and communicating, in response to detecting the value for the data point meeting conditions in at least one of the event enrollment objects, an alarm according to a notification class object paired with the at least one event enrollment object.

  • Patent number: 7956719
Abstract: An arrangement for handling communication messages in a building control system includes a communication circuit and a control device. The communication circuit is operable to provide a first message on a communication network to a remote building control system device and to receive a responsive message generated by a remote building control system device responsive to the first message. The communication circuit is further operable to perform a first operation if the responsive message is received within a first time-out period and to perform a second operation if the responsive message is received after a first time-out period has expired. The control device is operable to generate a plurality of different time-out period values corresponding to a plurality of building control system devices and to provide information identifying the plurality of different time-out period values and their corresponding building control system devices to the communication circuit.

  • Patent number: 7353070
Abstract: An arrangement in a building control system includes a plurality of field panel devices. Each field panel device is configured to receive control inputs and further configured to provide control outputs to at least one building control device. Each field panel device includes a data store, a communication circuit, and a processing circuit. The data store maintains a set of global data that is shared by all field panel devices. The communication circuit is operably connected to others of the plurality of field panel devices via a logical network. The processing circuit is operable to communicate changes of any of the set of global data to at least one other field panel device via the communication circuit.
