    Abstract: A tire tread with elastomeric ground engaging elements having an incision is described. The invention is characterized by at least one of the elements having an incision extending from the tread surface towards the interior of the elastomeric material. The incision splits into at least two incision portions in the interior of the elastomeric material below the tread surface. The incision portions extend away from the tread surface and diverge apart from each other over at least part of their depth.
