  • Patent number: 7073948
Abstract: A roller bearing (e.g., a cross taper roller bearing) includes an outer ring, an inner ring and rolling elements (e.g., taper rollers) located between the inner and outer rings. The rolling elements are kept at a distance by a cage formed from a number of individual cage segments. Each cage segment has two opposing guide sections for one of the rolling elements to at least partially encompass the rolling element on both sides. In addition, for the rolling elements bordering the one rolling element, the cage segment has guide sections which, in interaction with a corresponding guide section of an adjacent cage segment, at least partially encompass the bordering rolling elements.

  • Patent number: 6193417
Abstract: A method for forming a clamping device comprising of a swiveling body made of plastic, a plain bearing bushing mounted radially inside the plastic swiveling body, a rolling bearing for mounting a clamping roll arranged eccentrically to the bearing bushing, the edges of the plain bearing bushing being wound out of a strip, and joined to each other under intrinsic tension in the area of the butt joint; and, wherein, the lateral surface of the plain bearing bushing and the bore surface of the rolling bearing function as parts of a mold for the injection-molding of the swiveling body and consisting of the steps of placing the rolling bearing assembly and a plain bearing bushing in a mold half in eccentric relation to one another, placing a second mold half over the plain bearing bushing and rolling bearing configured to form ring-shaped projections to hold rolling bearing in a predetermined axial position relating to the bearing bushing, and injecting a plastic material with the mold closed to form the swivel bod

  • Patent number: 6146301
Abstract: A support body used in a tensioning device includes a support element and a bottom plate. The support element is attached to the bottom plate in a radially and axially form-fitting and fixed manner through use of a plastic element that is molded into place by extrusion. The plastic element engages a groove formed in the outer surface of the support element and also engages through holes formed in the bottom plate.

  • Patent number: 4795280
Abstract: A locking mechanism for connecting machine parts such as bearing rings on a support. The support includes at least one radially elastic element having a seating surface for the ring which is deflectable radially inwardly to permit assembly of the ring on the support surface and at least one locking element formed integrally with the support and acuatable between a release position wherein the snapping element can be flexed to facilitate assembly and removal of a ring on the seating surface and a locked position wherein the ring is supported in a form locking manner in the seating surface.

  • Patent number: 4580757
Abstract: Apparatus for making a molded plastic roller with embedded bearings. The roller is formed directly on a bearing or the like by injecting plastic into a mold by way of an umbrella sprue. The tool parts are arranged so that the shearing surface, formed after shearing off of the sprue residue when the mold is opened, is located on the outer surface of the inner collar portion. The molding tool comprises two tool parts for forming the outer surfaces of the rolling body, at least one tool part having a molding portion for forming an annular recess in the roller, and a cylindrical tool part inserted in the bearing, or the like and having a mushroom-shaped head. A back taper of the molding portion for forming the annular recess and the edge of the head together define an annular clearance through which plastic material is injected.
