  • Publication number: 20240009282
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method of treating peri-orbital fullness in a subject upon determining if the subject exhibits pseudoherniation of one or more upper eyelid fat pads and/or one or more lower eyelid fat pads, determining if the subject exhibits one or more conditions selected from the group consisting of: edema of the fat pad, edema along the soft tissue of the upper and/or lower eyelids, malar mounds due to edema, malar edema, and mild festoons aggravated by edema, and scoring the peri-orbital fullness from both determinations.

  • Publication number: 20230111020
Abstract: A surgical drain including an introducer having a central axis, a proximal end, and a distal end. The proximal end disposed along the central axis and configured to couple to a drain. The distal end having a blunt distal tip and the introducer at least partially tapering from the proximal end to the distal end, wherein the introducer has a length of 30 cm or greater.

  • Patent number: 11596672
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for treating a subject with periorbital puffiness by determining if the periorbital puffiness is due to edema or a structural change and administering a protein having hyaluronidase activity to the periorbital region of the subject if the periorbital puffiness is due to edema. Also provided are methods for determining if periorbital puffiness is due to edema or a structural change in a subject in need thereof by administering a composition that comprises a protein having hyaluronidase activity to the periorbital region of the subject, assessing the periorbital region at a predetermined amount of time after the administration of the composition, and then determining whether there is an improvement in the periorbital puffiness.

Inventors: Iliana E. Sweis, Bryan C. Cressey
  • Patent number: 11291403
Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods for determining an etiology of upper and/or lower eyelid puffiness by examining a subject with squinted eyes; and determining if upper and/or lower eyelid puffiness does not improve, improves, partially improves, or worsens, wherein the etiology of the upper and/or lower eyelid puffiness is diagnosed to be anterior to the orbicularis oculi muscle if the puffiness does not improve, wherein the etiology of the upper and/or lower eyelid puffiness is determined to be posterior to the orbicularis oculi muscle if the puffiness improves, wherein the etiology of the upper and/or lower eyelid puffiness is determined to be anterior and posterior to the orbicularis oculi muscle if the puffiness partially improves, or wherein the puffiness is determined to be secondary to hypertrophy of the orbicularis muscle or if the puffiness worsens.

  • Publication number: 20220000560
Abstract: An electronic computing system creates a treatment plan and provides safe and accurate treatment recommendations by obtaining an input image of a face; comparing, using a pattern recognition process, one or more aspects of the input image to corresponding aspects of a plurality of reference images; obtaining, based on a result of the comparing, supplemental information associated with one or more additional characteristics of the face; and creating a treatment plan based on the input image and the additional characteristic.
