    Abstract: A portable vibration monitoring probe is provided which comprises a housing, a probe and a transducer is provided. An analog to digital converter is coupled to the transducer output. The vibration monitor comprises an interface configured to transmit digital data comprising vibration parameters derived from the digitized analog signal to processing circuitry external to the housing. In some embodiments of the present invention, vibration monitors may be configured to store information in a memory located near the measuring point.
