  • Patent number: 8907222
Abstract: A cover apparatus can cover an electrical insulator and an electrical conductor. The cover apparatus includes one or more leg sections for covering a portion of the electrical conductor. The cover apparatus includes a cover section coupled to the one or more leg sections and covering a portion of the electrical insulator. The cover section includes a body portion and an adjustable portion coupled to the body portion at a coupling location. The adjustable portion can be adjusted such that a dimension of the adjustable portion is adjusted according to a dimension of the electrical insulator. An example method of forming a cover apparatus for covering an electrical insulator and an electrical conductor is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20130061466
Abstract: A damper assembly system that can provide for multiple frequency responses to control Aeolian vibration in EHV (Extra High Voltage) applications is disclosed. The damper assembly comprises an asymmetric design that enables two disparate frequency responses at either side of the clamp that attaches the damper to a suspended member or cable. Two additional frequency responses are enabled at an inlet point of each of the damper weights. The damper weights can have a rounded or egg-shape together with an inner cavity so as to control corona discharge in EHV applications. Additionally, the tuned weights can be of disparate mass as well as asymmetric distances from the clamp.

  • Publication number: 20120132762
Abstract: A cable wedge assembly that can streamline installation of cabling assemblies upon trees and other structures is provided. For example, the cable wedge assembly need not require specialized tools for installation. Rather, the unique features and functions of the assembly attach to a cable merely by inserting a cable through the assembly, tightening a portion of the connector upon another and establishing tension in the cable. Once cable tension is established, the integral wedges seat causing attachment to and retention of the cable. This attachment and retention is effected by way of split conical inserts disposed within the housing of the assembly.
