Abstract: A casino table deposit unit (100) is presented for processing and storing documents used within a casino environment. Each unit (100) is located on or near a gaming table within the casino and is adapted to aid casino staff with customer transactions. A plurality of these casino table deposit units (100) are connected within a networked system and are further adapted to communicate with a central server (207). Details of documents processed at each table deposit unit (100) are transmitted over a range of communication means to the central server (207), where the details are input to a data processing application. The data processing application consolidates the inputted information and stores the results in a database (209). This database (209) is then used by a further server (210) in a reconciliation operation performed on the contents of each table deposit unit (100) at the end of a gaming day. A casino currency is also proposed to work in conjunction with the deposit unit and extended system.
