    Abstract: A continuous curve arch shape cross section leaching chamber made of molded thermoplastic has closely spaced corrugations and sidewalls which are perforated with slots which slope downwardly, running from interior to exterior of the chamber. The slot height and or wall thickness vary with slot elevation from the base, to achieve a desired minimum Soil Threshold Angle in the slots, where said Angle parameter relates to resistance to entry of surrounding soil. Slotted wall thickness is less than about two times the thickness of the basic chamber wall thickness elsewhere. The chamber has properties and performance approximating prior art chambers, but has substantially less normalized weight and total weight.

    Abstract: Arch shape cross-section leaching and stormwater chambers are connected together so that swiveled angling is obtained at the joint. Angling is accomplished by means of an integral or detachable dome end comprising a conical section. A like chamber with an ordinary end mates by overlapping the dome. Or a like chamber may have an opposing and overlapping end, which also comprises a dome. A coupling for connecting two ordinary end chambers is comprised of two spaced apart conical domes spaced apart by a connector. The connector between the domes is optionally straight or angled. The couplings enable chambers to be connected at diverse angles to each other, as well as to be connected parallel with offset, i.e., with zigzag path.

    Abstract: The endplate of an arch shape cross section leaching chamber for dispersing liquid in soil has an inlet duct which enables the pipe delivering liquid to the chamber to be at higher elevation than the top of the chamber. Liquid flowing from the duct is guided downwardly by a channel and onto an integral baseplate extending into the chamber, to lessen any erosion of the soil within the open bottom of the chamber. Preferably, the endplate has double walls which, with sidewalls, form the channel. And, a slot opening near the bottom of the inner wall discharges the liquid into the chamber interior.

    Abstract: A leaching chamber for gathering and dispersing liquids in soil has an end with an angled terminus, so that chambers may be connected as a string in a rough curve. An angled chamber end is severable from the chamber at an indicant, to convert the chamber to one having a different angled end, e.g., a square end. Intentional looseness of fit at the joint enables further angular adjustment. Thus, a combination of chambers with original and severed ends, having a basic 6 degree end angle and 3 degree of looseness, can form a chamber string where the alignment angles between adjacent chamber axes range from minus 3 to plus 9 degrees. Such leaching chamber strings may be installed in practically level trenches which follow the contour of a hillside.

    Abstract: A molded plastic leaching chamber, for dispersing or collecting liquids in soil, has a corrugated arch shape. The sidewall of the chamber is comprised of alternating slot-perforated peaks and valleys connected by slot-perforated deep webs. The unit surface length of perforated sidewall is greater than the unit length of chamber. A combination of interrelated dimensions and angles provide high leaching capacity, strength, and capability to nest for shipment. The sidewall is reinforced by vertically running ribs; the perforated web is reinforced by zig-zag struts. Ribs and struts are shaped and positioned to minimize blockage of the slot openings.
