  • Patent number: 7014202
Abstract: A method of attaching an axle of a golf car to a leaf spring of the golf car, comprising the steps of aligning the leaf spring adjacent the axle and a bottom plate, inserting an end of a fastener initially through a first aperture associated with the axle and subsequently through a second aperture of the bottom plate and securing the leaf spring between the axle and the bottom plate by securing the fastener at the bottom plate, enabling improved access for assembly and service.

  • Patent number: 6662915
Abstract: A brake assembly is provided for implementation with a brake system and includes a support bracket, a master cylinder supported by the support bracket and operable to provide hydraulic pressure to the brake system, an accumulator piston extending from the master cylinder and operable to maintain hydraulic pressure within the hydraulic brake system, and an accumulator assembly extending from the support bracket. The accumulator assembly includes a compression plate engaging the accumulator piston, an end cap and an accumulator spring disposed between the compression plate and the end cap, biasing the compression plate against the accumulator piston. A booster arm is pivotally supported by the support bracket and is actuable between first and second positions. In the first position the booster arm limits axial movement of the compression plate against the accumulator piston and in the second position the booster arm permits increased axial movement thereof.

  • Publication number: 20030164641
Abstract: A golf car having a frame supported on a plurality of wheels and a braking device coupled to at least one of the plurality of wheels. A hydraulic system selectively outputs hydraulic fluid in response to a control input. A brake line is fluidly coupled between the braking device and the hydraulic system for carrying the hydraulic fluid under pressure. The brake line includes a flexible inner member and a braided outer member, which is sized to closely conformed to an outer shape of the flexible inner member. The braided outer member generally prevents radial expansion of the flexible inner member to minimize fluid leak and plastic deformation of the brake line and improves resistance to corrosion.

  • Patent number: 5966080
Abstract: A drain plug warning system includes a first member that can be attached to a transom or other wall of a watercraft and a second member that is shaped to be received within an aperture that is formed through the first member. To drain water from the watercraft, the drain plug or second member is removed from the aperture of the first member, and water is allowed to drain through the aperture. If the second member is not replaced within the aperture to a predetermined location relative to the first member, a magnetically sensitive component near the aperture assumes a state that will cause an alarm under certain predefined conditions such as when an operator activates a key switch mechanism of the watercraft. The magnetically sensitive component can be a Hall effect element or other magnetically sensitive component.

  • Patent number: 5664536
Abstract: A self-locating piston ring for a piston of a two-stroke engine. The piston is slidable in the cylinder bore of a two-stroke engine and is provided with a circumferential groove. A recess extends radially inward from a portion of the groove. A split piston ring is located in the groove of the piston, and the piston ring is provided with a tab which extends radially inward and is received within the recess, thereby preventing rotation of the piston ring relative to the piston.
